A “Shep-Slap” for Chick-fil-A?

People who insist Fox News ONLY presents the “conservative” viewpoint have always been wrong – Bill O’Reilly, a self-confessed “traditionalist” and their most visible presence, nevertheless goes out of his way to keep Leftist views represented in some way every weeknight between 8 and 9 PM (est);(shoot, once in a while it’s O’Reilly himself who provides that representation!).

Sean Hannity started out on the network being contested every night by uber-Lefty Alan Colmes (anyone out there remember Hannity & Colmes?; alas, Holmes is no longer a staple on Hannity’s show, although he weekly guests for O’Reilly. I actually think Hannity’s program was a lot more interesting when Holmes was there to provide a Liberal foil for Sean’s superior ideas each evening.)

The Five? Sure a Republican or conservative contingent is front-and-center; but can you say Bob Beckel? He’s a Democratic whirling-dervish and he shows up on that program nearly every afternoon (and with Hannity at least two or three times a week).

Certainly, Fox News clearly guarantees that “right-wing” ideas will get an airing on a consistent basis. But ONLY “right-wing” ideas? – hardly.

Anway, the network’s dinnertime news host, Shepard Smith, increasingly has been arching the eyebrows of those on the alert for the media’s Lefty snarkiness. More and more regularly, Fox News viewers are concluding that “Shep”, flat out, is at least a social liberal.

Those suspicions deepened for many Aug 1st, when throngs turned out to support Chick-fil-A restaurants for that franchise’s support of traditional marriage. A glancing remark by Mr. Smith seemed to take a dig at the fast-food chain, equating their CEO’s implied opposition to “gay marriage” to “intolerance”.

Further to this, more details below. What do you think?

Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day was a huge success. The parking lots were full of cars. The lines were long. The food was great. And not a discouraging word was said from those who participated. I’ve heard that where homosexuals came to demonstrate that they were given food and drinks. Contrast this with the hate-speech and business bullying that comes from the Left.

Homosexuals want to counter the Appreciation Day by having a “kiss-in” at Chick-fil-A restaurants. What will this demonstrate? First, they’re whiners when they don’t get their way, and they didn’t get their way on this issue. They lost a very big public relations battle even though they had the mayors of several major cities behind them and most of the media.

There was a Chik-Fil-A in Torrance, CA that was vandalized this morning. The restaurant was just recently opened….recently, being within the last 3-5 months. Reported by KFI radio in Los Angeles. I’m feeling more and more like the Left KNOWS it’s done, and is trying to piss us off on its way out the door.

Since Beck left FOX (I think because of his honesty about Soros, and the Progressive liberal establishment) they have become more liberal as well. Outside of Hannity most are liberal or moderate such as Shep, Megan Kelly, Left Les Weil, Left Bill O’Reilly, Moderate, Greta Van Susteren, left. Most recent hires have been from CNN, NBC, CBS,
an ABC which are all liberal. My guess is the Administration has put their boot on the throat of FOX.

  And don’t forget Juan Wiliams. When he tried to fill in for O’Reilly the other day it was kind of comical to watch him try to be at least somewhat conservative as the host. When I see him on a panel I just get an “ah, geez” moment and try to bear with it as long as possible. Bob Beckel is just as bad on The Five but that is how they can say they are “balanced” and they are better than the rest. My husband has no choice but to listen to CNN at his place of employment (a liberal company) and he tells me the kind of stuff they say and I am glad we have Fox even if we have to deal with the liberal pundits and guests. I can’t hardly stand to watch Shep anymore because his eyebrows are so arched – he needs to lay off the plastic surgery!

Shepard Smith was married once, for six years. I think he was trying to pass.
I think he will join Don Lemmon and Anderson Cooper of CNN, by coming out.
I think he should join them on CNN. His contract at Fox expires in 2013.

  I always wondered about Shepard Smith if he is gay that is to bad I kind if like the guy and if he dosn’t like Chick-Filet I guess that is his perogotive but Fox News claims to be fair and ballanced so they have their liberal views as much as the conservative views.I wont watch all the other Stations because they strictly shuff their garbage down once Throught.

He can have his opinions, but I always thought he was kinda wierd showing the Bear dropping out of the tree onto the trampolen and then to the ground – head first. He keep laughing about this and re-ran it several times just laughing and laughing. This became most of his closing trademark for a long time. I thought is was a little stupid and stopped watching him after that.

i have not watched smith for years because of his liberal self. as far as being intolerant, there is scripture where churches were warned in the bible of being “tolerant of evil.” one of the reasons the liberals have been able to destroy our country is that we have been “tolerant of their evil anything goes policies.” remember that homosexual acts are “an abomination to GOD” according to his word.

Shepherd Smith is, of course, a leftist, and has really been pretty open about it for some time. O’Reilly tries to be “objective” in his political reporting and opinion, but shows an unbelievable naivete when it comes to the threat of Sharia law to the U.S. He’s either a fool or complicit, take your pick.

  I remember how Shep “reported” the Hurricane Katrina aftermath in New Orleans – of course “it was all Bush’s fault” that Mayor Nagin FAILED to evacuate the city when the warnings went up but instead let all the empty buses be rendered useless by the floods. He also “reported” false information about all the murder and mayhem going on inside the stadium where so many went (turned out they were stories like those made up by Sen. Harry Reid).
  It’s still necessary to hear “both sides” – it also provides proof to the public that the Left “ideas” are totally ridiculous, insane and dangerously stupid.

I dunno – Shep is left? I always thought he was just snarky. I consider myself a conservative – CNN and MSNBC make my eyes bleed. The only one I truly don’t like any more is O’Reilly – he’s so blinkin arrogant any more. I’ve even started watching the Five.

Fox News is the only place on tv where you can get mainly unbiased news (yes, that includes Shep!) and both sides of a story.

And as far as the rumor that he’ll “come out”, does it REALLY MATTER? Why do we care if a newscaster is gay? I like Elton John’s music – I don’t give two cents that he’s gay. I’ve never cared for Ellen Degeneress’s humor – I don’t find her funny. Has nothing to do with the fact she’s gay.

We need to quit obsessive ourselves with the personal lives of people. And I think Shep is a good ‘caster. I will continue to watch him (and listen on XM while I’m in my big truck).

  If the obsession of these so-called’ personal people’ wasn’t so bloody visible I believe the ‘other’ obsession wouldn’t exist. Society is not immune to the ‘reap what you sew’ philo. I can’t stand these creeps either, and would be just as happy not knowing about their personal addictions and obsessions. I just don’t give a hoot. In the meantime I will eat at Chick Fil Lay three squares a day.

Just cough up the ten bucks and get GBTV. Glen Beck has done a magnificient job at his own network! Then you don’t have to watch all of these left leaning watchamacallits! And you get some real news, along with some other pretty neat stuff! Cheap if you ask me!

  I used to watch the Glenn Beck program on Fox News if I didn’t watch anything elso on Fox. Now I seldom tune in to Fox News since they gave in to the liberal socialists. Glenn makes a lot of sense and explains the goals of the left more than any other outlet I’ve seen.

I am so glad to come across all these comments. I was beginning to think I was the only one who couldn’t stand the big-mouth Shep Smith and all his arrogant insertions of his own views into his so-called news “reporting.” I don’t watch the guy anymore because I just can’t tolerate his superinflated ego. His voice grates on my nerves worse than sandpaper.

Now, for Greta. She is either a closet leftist or else a just plain dense “moderate,” one of the two. Pick your choice. Last night she had Rep. Allen West on, and she had these stupid little questions that he answered two or three times and still did not get through to her. She kept asking him to explain why the people in Ohio could not have the same benefits of voting the last three days before election as the military. She simply could not get it through her finite mind that those last three days were set aside for people in service of our country to get their ballots in. (She did not even recognize that the Obama Administration raised the issue to gain an advantage in Ohio.) Rep. West kept telling her that civilians had up until those last three days to vote, because she seemed to think that for some reason, some people were being cheated out of voting. If that were the only time she showed thick-headedness, it would be more than enough. But she constantly has a hard time grasping anything that requires more complex reasoning..It was hard to tell if it was just plain denseness or whether she had an axe to grind with West. I finally reached over and clicked the “off” button to shut her tiresome ignorance out.

It is becoming increasingly suspect that the Obama “war” against Fox may be having an effect. Even Hannity, who seems to be the most ardent patriot and Conservative on the network, can’t seem to get past the same old accusations and questions re the Administration. He asks the same questions over and over with liberals. One wonders if Mr. Ailes has issued an edict to all to modify their comments. Just a thought.

Trace Gallagher would be an excellent replacement. I never watch Smith, he is obviously liberal, seems resentful at times and just in general, out of step. Thought the bear video that he kept playing was a bizarre thing to do. Made me uncomfortable because he seemed to relish seeing that poor bear hit the ground. What kind of man is that?

When juan williams, obama, or beckel come on Fox I just mute it or change the channel; works every time!! When is someone going to be SMART enough to create a Conservative Only Channel with the likes of Judge Napalitano, Glen Beck, etc.? I would bet that channel would draw viewers, and advertisers, faster than any channel on the “opiate of the masses”!!
