t’s time for the cast “Jersey Shore” to trade in the tanning oil for an updated resume.
On Thursday, the network announced that this season, which will premiere in October, will be the show’s final one. The news comes days after the breakout star, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, gave birth to her first son Lorenzo.
MTV will commemorate the end of the show with a series of farewell programs, which will begin early next month with a one-hour retrospective called “Gym, Tan, Look Back.” It will air Sept 6 as a lead-up to the 2012 MTV Movie Awards.
Some of the cast members have enjoyed several spinoffs, including “The Pauly D. Project” and “Snooki & JWOWW.” But the cast has also had its fair share of scandals over the years, with several of the cast members getting arrested for disorderly conduct and assault, among other things. Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino also did a stint in rehab earlier this year.
The final season will premiere on Oct. 4 at 10 p.m. on MTV.

"Doug Giles and his team over at ClashDaily.com cut through the crap to expose what have become modern day human slaughter houses: gun free zones. Their candid arguments about allowing teachers to protect themselves and the students in their care through concealed carry should be taken seriously. As a result maybe, just maybe, we’ll be able to save some lives someday rather than call the cops to report the body count." - Katie Pavlich. "There were many lessons to draw from the horrific Newtown, CT school shooting. Unfortunately, most of the media and political Left came up with the wrong ones. But not Doug Giles and his writers over at ClashDaily.com. In the wake of this horror, they offered a robust defense of American citizens' right to bear arms and common sense answers to societal violence. The Sandy Hook Massacre: When Seconds Count, the Police are Minutes Away is a great resource for those interested in this vital, Constitutional issue." - S.E.
