Government: Criminal Enterprise? Just Incompetent? Both?

For years I’ve been warning my readers that government is becoming a legalized criminal enterprise — as it grows bigger and bigger and more intrusive — under the expanding influence of de facto Marxist/Socialist/Radical-Leftist Ideology.

Just look at the General Services Administration’s spending that has recently been exposed by the media. GSA employees have been living high on taxpayer dollars for years.

No one in the government lives higher than President Obama and Michelle Obama. They have spent millions of dollars of taxpayer money on vacations and unnecessary trips.

Government salaries are another scandal. Most government jobs pay twice as much as the same position in the private sector. And government retirement programs contribute hundreds of thousands of dollars, and in some cases millions of dollars, to retired government employees and their families. One can become a de facto millionaire by taking a government job in Obama/Pelosi/Reed’s de facto Marxist/Socialist/Radical-Leftist regime.

The Founding Fathers understood the dangers of big government. They were quite aware of the excesses of the kings, despots and autocrats of their era and history. They were determined to prevent that from happening here in the United States by forming a limited centralized government with separated power. Yet, today, our government is gigantic, unaffordable and corrupt.

Career politicians and government bureaucrats have bribed voters with benefits paid for with borrowed and printed money. Over fifty-five percent of the American people receive benefits from the government. These crumbs for the masses are apparently sufficient to perpetuate the lifestyle of career politicians and their lavish perquisites. And many of our “public servants” leave office as multimillionaires.

Meanwhile, what about the effectiveness of the “leadership” they are providing?

1) Gasoline prices are up 24% on average across the board in the USA. In specific cities they are up even more. For example, in Detroit gasoline prices are up 36%; in Milwaukee and Cincinnati over 40%. Romney promises to bring these prices down by licensing more domestic oil, gas and clean coal production. Obama has done just the opposite.

2) According to Varney and Company, fifty-six million Americans are now on Social Security. That number is projected to go up to approximately 91,000,000 by 2035.

More importantly, 36% of the people collecting Social Security are not retired but rather are disabled or are family members of deceased workers. Also, many of the people who are eligible to receive Social Security aren’t taking it at this time, according to Tom Sullivan of FOX Business news. Apparently people are choosing to continue working rather than collect Social Security – because of the lousy economy.

Needless to say, these are gross departures from the original intention of Social Security. Social Security is paying out more than it takes in and is unsustainable. Once again we see that Obama/Pelosi/Reid are neglecting this critical problem.

3) Pres. Obama just held another star-studded fundraiser. This was his 200th fundraiser. There can be little doubt why our country is in disastrous financial shape when the President of the United States spends much of his time flying around the country at taxpayer expense to hold fundraisers – to support his presidential ambitions. This is unprecedented in the history of the presidency. The man is totally absorbed by his own self-interests.

4) The National Business Group on Health has just released a report that says sixty percent of large employers who now provide health insurance for their employees plan on increased premiums of seven percent in 2013.

5) Not only are gasoline prices soaring, but food prices are going up substantially during this coming year due to the drought related shortage of corn and grain production. At the same time, Obama/Pelosi/Reid have done nothing about the use of corn to produce ethanol fuel.

It’s reported that forty percent of corn production now goes into the production of ethanol. That’s millions of bushels of corn used for fuel rather than to feed livestock. Get this: we have a shortage of corn and we are burning it as fuel; we have an abundance of cheap energy (gas, oil, coal) and Obama has restricted its development and use.

And Congress has adjourned without cancelling the government-mandated use of corn for ethanol production. In the meantime, Obama’s out fundraising for the 200th time! Clearly another example of failed government leadership.

Obama and the Democrats continue to attack business success and, specifically, Mitt Romney. Apparently they think the American people prefer a non-performer like Obama to a successful professional like Romney. This election is coming down to a contest between quasi-Communism versus the American Way – a Constitutional, free enterprise system.
