Obama Calendar = Blasphemy

When I finished my recent column, Why I Loathe Obama, I really thought I had seen it all from this Administration and its admirers until a friend shared a photo of a calendar being sold at the Democratic National Convention making the leap that Barack Obama is Jesus Christ. The photo is copyrighted, but an internet search will yield the image quickly. The search words: Obama, Keep the Dream, Birth Certificate will produce the best results.

On the August page of the calendar titled, “Keep the Dream,” the caption at the bottom reads, “Heaven Sent, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. –John 3:16” Almost the entire page is a photo of Obama’s ‘birth’ certificate with a smaller inset photograph of Obama sitting in the Oval Office in deep thought with the referenced caption at the lower half of the page.

I do not believe that one can interpret this page in any other way. The thought that this Obama supporter believes that Barack Obama was “Heaven Sent” and then quotes John 3:16, one of the most sacred of all New Testament scriptures is sheer blasphemy and Christians everywhere should be completely outraged.

According to the calendar’s website, James Hickman is the calendar’s producer. It is called “Keep the Dream” and can be purchased here: http://keepthedream2013.com/?page_id=31&mycart_pid=2.

Surely, good pastors across the country will select this topic for next Sunday’s sermon and good Christian Americans will demand that the sale and production of this blasphemous product will be halted.

For the clueless and uninformed, John 3:16 is referring to Jesus Christ, NOT Barack Hussein Obama. Blasphemy defined is the act of claiming for oneself the attributes and rights of God. It is punishable by death according to the Bible. See Leviticus 24: 11-16 for starters. I hate to break it to him, but Obama isn’t God. The difference between God and Obama is that God doesn’t think he is Obama among other things.

I will state for the record, that it would be nearly impossible for President Obama to control these kinds of things, but if I were him, I would make a special exceptions for blasphemous products that included my name and likeness, especially ones that suggested that I was the manifestation of John 3:16.
