Lame President Alert: The Benghazi Buck Stops with Hillary, Not Obama.

Lima, Peru (CNN) — Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the buck stops with her when it comes to who is to blame for security ahead of a deadly assault on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya.

“I take responsibility” for what happened on September 11, Clinton said in an interview with CNN’s Elise Labott soon after arriving in Lima, Peru for a visit.
The Obama administration has been heavily criticized after Vice President Joe Biden said during last week’s vice presidential debate that the White House did not know of requests to enhance security at Benghazi, contradicting testimony by State Department employees that requests had been made and rejected. Following the debate, the White House said the vice president did not know of the requests because they were handled, as is the practice, by the State Department.

Everything the Clintons do is first and foremost designed to provide the max benefit for them, not for the country. So Hillary has only two ways to go: She could roll over on Obama & fess up that he knew darn well the embassy had asked for additional security, or she could shield the liar in chief and take one for the team. The power hungry Hillary desperately wants to be president and plans to run in 2016. She can see that her ONLY chance is to perhaps succeed the flailing and failing Obama. If Romney wins & the economy improves, the Middle East calms down due to the U.S. resuming unequivocal support for Israel, we begin reducing our debt and actually start drilling for our OWN oil, etc, etc and he’ll easily be re-elected. This leaves Hillary looking way out to 2020, when she’ll either be too old or too dead to go for the gold. And that makes for an easy choice in her present dilemma – gotta a stick with Barry the Buffoon.

The Dems will blame the GOP for this somehow, citing cuts in security. Bottom line, however, is that we had more security at the U.S. embassy in Barbados than at Benghazi despite 230 incidents in the Benghazi area within the last year. On June 6, Benghazi was attacked and a hole blown through a wall “big enough for 40 people to walk through.” Still no added security. Then, a mere week before the attack, the British consulate down the street is attacked, and the British ambassador leaves. Still no added security. In fact, the security that was at Benghazi in August is removed over Stevens’ objection. What a sitting duck!!! Forget what happened AFTER the attack and who said what, etc. The real question is why Ambassador Stevens was left out to dry on September 11, the anniversary of 9/11 and a mere day or two after his life had been threatened and his daily schedule publicized on the internet. Something really stinks!!!!

The Benghazi lack of security, deaths, loss of documents, and poor reaction from the administration are an extremely important issue. Looking at the big picture, however, IMHO, we are going back to the ‘surge in Iraq’ argument. In otherwords, we are being Johnny One-note again. It’s very important to keep Libya on the front page, but it seems to be the only sword those on the right are brandishing. I find this especially true in the TV Media, but also online. Maybe it’s because those on the right already know all the facts about the economy, energy, etc. When are we going to create lines of campaigning that are understood and appeal to the low-information voters? We need to hang heavy on responding, but not criticizing, the issues that the administration’s campaign is emphasizing……day by day and hour by hour, and if necessary, minute by minute.

Given the fact that the first White House response on the matter came out less than twelve hours after the incident calling it an act of terror, and that it has become clear that the State Dept. did not alert the White House about requests they’d received for increased security which wee turned down due to Congress’ refusal to provide funds for the increase (Rep. Ryan was one of those who voted “No” on the matter) the buck seems to have stopped at the appropriate place so long as you exclude the Republicons’ role in the matter.
