CLEMSON, S.C. — The president of Clemson University is chastising those who booed President Barack Obama during the college’s Military Appreciation Day at last weekend’s game.

During the university’s annual event that was held this year during the Clemson vs. Virginia Tech game on Saturday, a ceremony was held to induct ROTC cadets into the military.

The ceremony was disrupted by booing from some fans in the stands.

In an email with the subject line, “Dear Clemson Family: Focus on Positive Dialogue and a Civil Discourse,” Clemson University president James Barker addressed the behavior at the football game.

He wrote: “Saturday’s football game marked Clemson’s annual observance of Military Appreciation Day, a time when we pay tribute to veterans, men and women currently serving and those who gave their lives to protect us. Clemson has a strong military heritage, and this day is always a special occasion.

“Unfortunately, the day was marred by bad behavior from some fans. During the ceremony inducting ROTC cadets into the military, a number of fans booed during the section of the oath they take to obey the President of the United States.

I believe this is the way it goes in America:
If they were being administered the enlisted oath following the
orders of the president and the officers who shall be placed over them would be
correct.

On the other hand if they were taking the Officer’s oath that oath
requires them to preserve, protect, and defend the constitution against all
enemies foreign and/or domestic. (it says nothing about swearing allegiance to
the President).

  Thank you. if the oath the cadets took includes allegiance to a president it needs to be changed to allegiance to the Constitution. Americans in the military don’t pledge alligence to a man.

I applaud these young brave American for their courage to express their true feeling. I hope they continue to do just that when ever any politician tries to pull the wool over their eyes. The only way for these youg folks to stay free is to protect what older generations have given us to mold into a better country for ourselves and our families. My Grand Children are also in ROTC and the Air Force Academy. Keep America a Free Nation and keep those who did their part safe.

Unless the president was actually in attendance at the game, how do you draw the conclusion that students were booing at the president? Isn’t it just as likely that they were simply expressing their disagreement with current policy? I have not yet learned to trust the juvenile wisdom of college kids and their general disdain for the military is well known.
So, I think I would reserve judgment on the conclusion that it was the president who was being booed.

The ceremony, actually, was marred by including an oath to the unknown person usurper of the office (of the president) which should be held by a patriotic citizen of the United States. We know only that he has been raised and mentored by communists and has shown this ideology in his administration.

  The Constitution,is a great document, but in a speech, the “Orator of empty words” Obama stated it was outdated and wriiten by old men. He smugly smiled at the peons in the crowd, while wondering how they could follow and abide by a piece of parchment. It reminded me of the arrogance of both Obamas, when Mrs. Obama was overheard whispering in his ear at a military ceremony, “All this for a damn flag.” Great love of this country is not in their hearts and it shows. Obama was outdated the minute he tried to impose his will on the people early in his term. He was elected President. not a King or Caliph, a fact he is oblivious of. Maybe during Legal class Constitution 101, he failed to grasp the meaning of our great document , which has guided our country for over two hundred years, American Citizens, will never allow him or anyone the right to change the Constitution, in order to satisfy their viewpoint, Obama’s,ideas appear to be polar opposite of what those great men intended for the greatest country in the world November 6th, can’t come fast enough for US Patriots to see the election of a new team, who will put America, it’s laws and it’s citizens first.

If we had a real president it would be bad behavior, but with this guy. Just think about what he just did with those Navy Seals. They fought for 6 hours and asked for a gun ship to come and help them out and what did this guy do?, He went to bed. So if people are booing you can more than understand. Maybe Barker has it wrong, maybe the students were booing the ROTC candidates’ induction since liberal universities have been known to obstruct ROTC on their campuses. Did they boo before or after it was discovered the two Seals who died in Benghazi, Libya waited in vain for help to arrive while Obama sat in the Oval Office and did nothing?
