Damn facts! This is awesome! Thanks Doug for posting this!

  • Sgt. York

even ol bubba has a great idea once in awhile. this gets a 5star rating.

  • Amber

Well if we can have Valerie Jarrett protected while she is vacationing in the Hamptons, why can’t we have little school children protected?

  • Tallfritz

There are about 98,800 public schools in the US. Clinton requested $60million to put armed cops in schools? That’s just over $600 per school.. per year? How’s a cop going to live on $600 per year?? Is this another example of Democrat-mathematics??

    • Tallfritz

What about the 34000 private schools?

  • CaptPainter

Clinton did indeed make this request, although the money was not solely or specifically for armed guards at schools. At any rate it was soundly poopoo’d by Republicans.

    • RightStuff

It was poopoo’d by the Republicans because they didn’t want any Federal money going into the local schools. There is too much Federal money already there, and that money has given our oppressive Federal government 90% of the control. Local public education is not a part of the Federal government’s responsibility.

      • Pupito4u

So why is it a good idea now? Politics? Because this time a Conservative brought it up? Bah!

        • http://www.facebook.com/grant.halverson.1 Grant Halverson

It’s not a good idea to have cops in schools – republican or democrat proposals – we need teachers who have guns and are trained who will carry in their schools and at least 2 administrative staff should carry (never scheduled to be out of the office on the same day). We need Trained Americans, not more cops.. Additionally, evil people will find someplace else to kill then, grocery stores, parks, etc. What we need are trained Americans who carry and I think this is happening more and more!

Obama and his administration want you unarmed because these traitors want full control of the people and the country, they fear the citizen, that was why our founding fathers wrote the 2nd Amendment for the purpose of fighting a tyrannical government. Obama and Holder committed treason by arming drug cartels which drain our resources and that endangers law abiding citizens.I do not recognize Obama law, only Constitutional laws of my country, he or his administration do not have the authority to take away our rights. If gun bans work so well how come the state he and Emanuel come from (Chicago, IL) is a war zone, that they have declared a gun free zone where the citizens are unarmed while the criminals rob and kill innocent people. The two hypocrites have armed security and wouldn’t leave home without their protection detail. i never leave home without my 9mm and 2 full clips, I want help before the cops get there too late to assist. Obama gun ban will not stop me because it is unconstitutional and he is a threat to my country that I served, where in my oath to my country does it mention to protect the president, a tyrannical government, a political party or lay my weapons down and surrender my freedom to traitors.

With the amount of time the schools are in session it wouldn’t cost anyware near what their saying.Take a little money from gold bricks we have in government.

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile…

  • Pupito4u

It’s all fine and dandy to see some here praising Clinton for the GREAT idea. The part that this story left out? Republicans in Congress shot this GREAT idea down. You can stop patting yourselves on the back now.

That the NRA is promoting the same position that Bill Clinton once advocated only goes to (once again) expose how compromised the NRA tends to be. Think about it, the government shouldn’t be involved in the education of our children in the first place. Why add to the tax burden by hiring a policeman for what two or more armed teachers can do. For every teacher armed the potential for protection is multiplied that much more over one lone cop.

Check out Gun Owners of America for an uncompromising gun organization. Listen Executive Director Larry Pratt’s views regarding the Biblical responsibility to bear arms in protection of ourselves, families, and neighbors versus the Second Amendment “rights” to do the same at http://www.bibleversusconstitution.org/tapelist.html#goa.

Finally someone gets it. The NRA sold out membership decade ago, I followed them closely was a die hard member, but dumped them fifteen years ago when they were actively selling out membership just to be establishment hacks. They are completely compromised as you put it Ted, I only wish the other Ted, the “Nuge” would get this. I joined GOA fifteen years ago, when i researched and found NRA to be problematic in their support for certain bills.

  • Hoovercarole

The cops have enough to do… I say one Military Vet per school an hour prior to first bell till one hour after the last person has left. Lets employ the vets-maybe the superintendents could cough up a portion of their bonuses to pay for it. Semper Fi

If our “DO NOTHING CONGRESS” would stop funding foregin countries, and Illegals, and paid more attention to the taxpyers here in the U.S. we would have more than enough money to arm the borders with National Guard Troops, and also our schools. I would install Sheriff JOE ARPIO, as Holders replacement. We need a true american patriot who loves our country in this position.

    • Pupito4u

How many illegals have gone on killing spree’s here in the U.S.? Answer=NONE

Tough Shizzle, Wet-Back! “Mierda Dura”, Chinga Te Tu Mismo! in your Language. Wet-Backs kill Americans wholesale, by Driving Blind Drunk, W/O Insurance!!Mexican AMERICANS and Illegals don,t get along. AT ALL. I lived in West Texas 8 yrs,I Read ,Write, and Speak Spanish, Anyone espousing the Illegal cause is an Illegal, an Immigration LAWYER, or a Re-Conquista.

  • RockyMtn1776

That was then, this is now. The Clintons have both been masters at telling the public what thety want to hear. Most teachers are Libs and would never touch a gun, let alone use how to properly use one. Security is a must with the mentally ill roaming freely about, I’d use police, ex military for school security.

  • David Hodges

We need cops at school like we need the government gunners at the Mexican border. There are plenty of people already around who would be glad to protect our interests, but are prohibited from doing so. We don’t need the Second Amendment. We need God’s law. The Second Amendment is like permission from an older sibling to do what is already authorized by one’s parent. It is meaningless, except for the purpose of usurping legitimate authority. My ancestors had the Biblical responsibility, according to Luke 22: 36, to bear arms long before “Big Brother” gave us the Second Amendment. If you are a Constitutionalist (or a prostitutionalist–whatever you want to call yourself for whoring after other gods), be ready to turn your guns in as soon as the Second Amendment slips away. As for me and my house, we’ll keep our fingers on the triggers.

  • Sonny

This gets negative zero star rating. This is classic, NRA and Clinton calling for the same thing. This is why i ditched the NRA over fifteen years ago. Who the hell is the NRA to form policy? They are there to defend gun rights not be a voice on public policy. They are complete establishment hacks, I know no one likes to hear this, but the NRA is far from sacred and sold out its membership long long ago. Wake up, look at the bills they have supported. Another level of government wasted money over something that is no more a threat than lightning strikes.

  • Irma

It is an absolute MUST that the Democrats are reminded over and over again, loudly and clearly, what they themselves have said when they pretend to be so above the Conservatives. Their hatred of any and all NON-Democrats blinds them and keeps them from any rational thought.

  • T. Edward Price

This is one of many reasons not to support the NRA. If we must be burdened with government education, then a much more sensible approach would be to allow ANY teacher or school staff member to be armed. Having a federally subsidized police presence just furthers the exposure students have to the ever growing police state. Schools are virtual prisons already. This is just one more step in further conditioning children to be perfectly submissive to the state. Does it escape everyone’s notice that Wayne LaPierre is also advocating a national psychiatric database? This would include returning veterans who MIGHT be required to undergo a psychiatric evaluation as part of a typical debriefing. The NRA is part of the problem, not the solution. If you are truly concerned about your ability to maintain an armed presence in defense of self, family, community, and country, then check out Gun Owners of America (GOA). They are unwavering in their support of the God given RESPONSIBILITY to be armed

The more things change the more things remain the same.Solomon was right when he wrote that that there is nothing new under the sun

  • Richrd Hogue

Talk about closing the door after the horse escaped. But, I wouldn’t complain the least if we put armed people inside the school house. It will act as a deterent if mad people realize the odds of doing gunning down children will be very costly to them..personally.
How it happens I do not care; what it costs I do not care; who gets the praise and acculaids I do not care: just get it done.
