Todd Starnes- The Daughters of the American Revolution, one of the nation’s oldest patriotic organizations, has erased any mention of Jesus Christ in their official book, removed prayers and poems that reference Christian imagery, and directed members to refrain from praying in the name of Christ, an outraged group of members alleged.

The dispute has been brewing for more than a year when DAR members learned that the newly revised Ritual and Missal books – the primary guide for chaplains – were altered. They noticed that the name of Jesus Christ had been omitted.
The members said DAR leadership made the changes to be politically correct and to accommodate new members of other religious beliefs.

  I remember being a graduate student at a well known Texas university when Waco happened. I couldn’t believe that Texas had allowed such acts by the feds. When I returned to class the prof asked us what we thought of the events that had taken place and the burning and death of the people. The things I heard other students in that class say opened my eyes to the hate and brutality of liberals. I was the only one in the whole class who voiced grief, shock and disapproval of what the federal government had done. The rest had bought into the propaganda being put out by the media that blamed the victims, for their own deaths. They didn’t not assign the responsibility where it really belonged; in the hands of the federal government.

    There is an advantage of “seeing it coming”. Chaos ensues when people are taken by surprise and go nuts on each other out of fear. And then the almighty gov’t can step in and present the “solution” to the “problem”. It’s the whole “Ordo ab Chao” motto they have. “Order out of Chaos”. And how do you create chaos? Blindside the public with tragedy so that they are debilitated until the demand the change they never would if they were in their right mind. It might be frightening to see the monster bearing down on you. But when you see the monster bearing down on you you at least know to “brace for impact”. You also know what is coming and can plan as to how to respond to the aftermath of the shoo shoo storm that is about to ensue. A tornado that hits a town unawares is likely to kill a heck of a lot more people than a town that saw it coming and could take defensive measures. The key is to be prepared mentally and spiritually and physically if you can, to the judgment of this country that is coming down the pike. God has given us over to the enemy to some extent. To the extent that we have turned our back on Him. He is faithful though to provide and protect those of us who do follow after Him. He can hide us, strengthen us, or my personal hope; whisk us away ahead or just after it “begins” in earnest. But the advantage of knowing ahead of time what is to occur is that chaos will not follow in your own heart and mind. Which is what the elites are trying to accomplish.

  You said one thing that needs to be corrected in the minds of the “law abiding” citizens. It is a mindset that we have lost since the founders. If a law is passed by our politicians that is UNJUST. ILLEGAL or otherwise not within the jurisdictional confines of the Constitution; according to I think it was Jefferson…we MUST DISOBEY that law. We MUST openly and actively come AGAINST that law.   I think he’s a bit thicker skinned than that and I think the attack is going to come from Russia and China rather than the Muslims, but you’re on the right track. I must be missing something, to be in DAR, you must be a direct descendant of a person who fought in the Revolutionary War. The country was founded on Christian principles, it seems to be reasonable that DAR was also found by and for Christian members.

I am not a true christian, carry doubts. But I believe that USA is a Christian country despite our moslem president and atheist democraps. I have just informed my regent that I am resigning from DAR. I have traced 5 of my great grandfathers to the American Revolution and I love the ladies in my organization, but I will not be a member of an organization that removes God upon request. Government should not have this right!!!! It does not stop me from declaring that Jesus Christ is my Savior and I can do without DAR, but I will not do without Jesus.

The time is rapidly approaching when average, individual citizens are going to have to decide whether to obey a man-made law or to follow their conscience about what is right. Sooner or later, quite possibly sooner, we may have to make the choice as to keeping quiet about our own faith or risk being thrown into the American Gulag.

A very good way for any member of the DAR who is “outraged” over the changes would be to simply withdraw their membership and support from the organization. How many members are willing to go that far? Right now, I’d say very few, just like virtually no one quit watching the NFL because Bob Costas spoke out in favor of gun control.

We haven’t reached the point yet where we have to put our money where our mouth is, but we will. Or maybe we have. Hobby Lobby has just declared that they will defy the law which demands that they provide contraceptive and abortive coverage to their employees.

  Roger, I agree with you. But beyond what the appropriate (Biblical) immediate responses to our individual situations may be, as important at that is, we have to somehow also get people asking the questions that will highlight WHY we find ourselves in the mess we are nationally. It’s only here that we will be able to eventually help a future generation of our posterity get our nation (or a part thereof) back on Biblical track.
  
  One of the most important questions we can be asking is “What’s the genesis of this or any other problem we’re facing in America?” In other words, what was the defining point in history that brought us from being a predominately united monotheistic Christian nation to the divided polytheistic nation we are today? First of all, it seems unlikely that the DAR would have members of other religious beliefs as members because to be eligible to join the DAR, one has to produce a pedigree that goes back past the American Revolution. And, just how many Hindus and Muslims are marrying the descendants of veterans of the American Revolution? Just about zip! I was told some years ago by my family that I was eligible to join the DAR, so I know the requirements. The revised missals do not make sense unless there are atheists objecting, and the Atheists would be very few. The DAR must have been infiltrated by Communists as have so many other organizations and churches, which is very sad.

They’re only “correcting” it because they were caught doing a bit of “editing”. Many old conservative organizations are being co opted by the progressives, so we must be watchful. An example is the Ford Foundation. It started out as very conservative, but has been co opted by the left.

My mother, who died in 2001 at 101,was proud to be a member of the DAR. She traveled (by train) talked by phone, visited libraries and cemeteries (no email or web sites) generally doing it the old way, so she could allow her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren the opportunity to be a part of this patriotic organization. And for what? I am glad she is with the one who died for her and all of us, so she does not have to see what the DAR has become.
