Congress less popular than root canal, cockroaches and lice, poll says

Screen Shot 2013-01-09 at 9.35.34 AM A new poll shows that Congress is less popular than carnies, root canals and colonoscopies, but more popular than the ebola virus, meth labs and gonorrhea.
Those findings are in a Public Policy Polling (PPP) survey released Tuesday showed that 9 percent of the respondents held a favorable opinion of Congress, while 85 percent held an unfavorable view.
“We all know Congress is unpopular,” said Dean Debnam, PPP president. “But the fact that voters like it even less than cockroaches, lice and Genghis Kahn real shows how far its esteem has fallen with the American public over the last few weeks.”

Okay, if everyone is disgusted with Congress (and let’s not leave out the Executive and Judicial branches), WHY isn’t anyone discussing the root cause for why we have such nincompoops, scoundrels, and criminals running the government? Until we get to the reason for this and address it, nothing is going to change and (based on history) likely only get worse.

The reason for the Congress we have today is actually quite simple. It’s because of Article 6′s ban of Christian tests and thereby Biblical qualifications for federal officials. Had Biblical qualifications not been eliminated, today’s entire batch could have never been elected.

  Dan, I sympathize with your frustration. However, if you’re at all Christian oriented, please consider this from the Biblical perspective:
  
  “Amendment 22 limits presidents to two terms. Most people would concede
  term limits are a good thing when evil men rule. But the question Christians should be asking is whether term limits are Biblical. Consider Solomon’s wisdom:
  
  ‘For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof: but by a man of understanding and knowledge the state thereof shall be prolonged.’ (Proverbs 28:2)
  
  “Yahweh intends the term of a ruler who keeps His law to be protracted:
  
  ‘And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book … that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom….’ (Deuteronomy 17:18-20)
  
  “The Constitution provides that the United States be ruled by ruler after ruler, which is part of Yahweh’s judgment against our sinful nation. Although term limits prevent corrupt officials from serving any longer than their terms allow, they permit them to serve as long as their terms allow. Chop congress and all of the feral gummint, including the other two branches down to their constitutionally authorized limits and they will instantly cease to be a problem. But, they aren’t the real problem. Brainless sheeple with the right to vote these weasels into office are.
