Hey,Senator, The Second Amendment Isn’t about Hunting

MH900448540Malo Periculosam, Libertatem Quam Quietam Servitutem. (Perilous Liberty over Peaceful Servitude).

If I hear one more idiot liberal try and tell me that they’re not trying to take guns away from hunters or that, “One does not need an AK-47 to hunt deer,” the temple vein in my head will reach 300 PSI and blood will begin shooting out my eyeballs.  Earth to morons: the Second Amendment isn’t about hunting or even self defense for that matter, unless you consider the definition of self defense being protecting oneself against a tyrannical government.

This is where the Left gets it wrong every time, especially more recently.  Placating the hunters whilst demonizing their brethren will not work as it did in Europe.  Americans are wiser thanks to the lessons learned from our formerly gun-owning European friends.  We’re not buying the crap that the Left is selling.  Maybe it has something to do with the fact that we are Americans and many of us still remember our nation’s history.

We remember that on April 19, 1775 Captain John Parker on Lexington Green ordered his men to, “Stand your ground; don’t fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have a war, let it begin here.”  To this day, those words send chills down my spine, as it does to every American patriot who understands what it means to stand and fight.  The British forces were coming for the guns of the resistance.  Let us never forget their motive.

Because of this, Americans instinctively know that you cannot have true freedoms without an armed populace capable of amassing a force comparable to that of the military or police power who would enslave them.  Hence, military style weapons.

Just this week, Senator Diane Feinstein stated, “We have tried to recognize legal hunting rights. We have tried to recognize legal defense rights,” in reference to her newly introduced firearms banning scheme.  I call BS.  She couldn’t care less about hunting or self defense as she has admitted in the past, “If I could have gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States for an outright ban picking up every one of them (referring to ALL guns), Mr. and Mrs. America, turn them all in, I would have done it.  I could not do that.  The votes weren’t here.”

One need not even address the stupidity of the claims from people like Feinstein that these guns are capable of “spraying fire” or “shooting from the hip” or “mowing down victims” as the gun grabbers so often repeat.  Anyone who has spent some serious time firing these guns knows this to be complete nonsense.

No rational person can argue that the taking away of guns from law abiding citizens improves the safety conditions for those disarmed.  In 2011, far more people were killed with things like blunt instruments, automobiles, knives and even hands and fists than rifles.  The numbers of people killed with the firearms being targeted in the proposed ban is statistically insignificant when compared to all other categories.  It isn’t about safety, it’s about control.

Sure, AR-15’s and other similar firearms are great for target shooting, home defense, plinking, or shooting small varmints like coyotes and prairie dogs.  But in the end, the Left inherently knows that they cannot control a population that has the capacity to match that of the forces who would take those freedoms away.  That’s why they want to disarm us.

The Left cannot stand the idea that I, as a free individual, can live my life without them taking care of me.  In the end if I don’t need their protection, then I don’t need anything else they are peddling.  Their system of governing does not work on a free and independent, self-supporting and moral people.  It only works on a disarmed, subservient, dumbed-down population who has capitulated to their control.  That’s why they are constantly on the attack against the cornerstones of our liberty, faith, family and firearms.

Like Jefferson, I prefer “Dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery.”  Malo periculosam, libertatem quam quietam servitutem.

I’m glad that my AR-15 looks scary to people like Diane Feinstein.  It is the exact deterrent that our Founders envisioned.
