Pornography Is Helping The Same Sex Marriage Cause

BluesThe psychological effects of pornography are pretty well known to those who rail against it. Porn gives its viewers unrealistic expectations as well as an objectified and negative view of women. The vast amounts of different porn on the internet today serves as a testament to how insatiable sexual desire can be in a human being. Recently, Iceland even passed legislation to ban excessively violent and morbid pornography. But research from the University Of Texas is adding on another effect to pornography: the changing of your worldview.

According to professor Mark Regnerus, men who frequent adult material are more likely to support same sex marriage. Professor Regnerus goes on to state that those men who support same sex marriage do not do so out of “ideals about expansive freedoms, rights, liberties, and a noble commitment to fairness. It may be, at least in part, a byproduct of regular exposure to diverse and graphic sex acts.” Professors from the University of Arizona and the University of Indiana have also written works questioning why pornography “activates a ‘liberal’ mind-set.” The research argues that repeated exposure to nontraditional sex acts (such as premarital, extramarital, group, paid, and casual) will breed a more “libertarian” belief in the mind of the viewer where sex is completely separated from government intervention.

What do you think? Does pornography have an impact on a person’s worldview?
