As Gun Control Law Fails, Obama Does Unintentional, Bad Standup
Our Dear Reader concluded his bad standup routine with a promise that “his effort is not over.” Let me translate. This is an issue he plans to use in 2014 to try to retake the House by appealing to the low-information soccer mommy cohort, and his faux outrage was designed to inspire them to spring into action. “There were no coherent arguments as to why we wouldn’t do this. It came down to politics,” he said today.
Actually, there are no coherent arguments as to why we SHOULD do it. Even the proponents admit, it wouldn’t have made a particle of difference in Newtown, Aurora or Tucson. So who is engaging in cynical politics? And who is the willful liar? I think Pres. Obama may be engaging in that favorite liberal pass time, projection.
Barack Obama called this day “a pretty shameful day for Washington.” Perhaps, because whenever the current occupant of the Oval Office demeans the office by deliberately lying, and denounces his political opponents for engaging in the very cynical politics that permeates every fiber of his being, it is a shameful and embarrassing spectacle. His performance, while shameful, was also shameless.
