VIDEO: Melee Erupts as NYPD Arrests Muslim for Taunting Jewish Subway Rider

The attempted arrest of an allegedly hate-mongering teen aboard a Brooklyn subway quickly turned into a wild showdown between cops and a roiled mob, according to sources and video obtained by the Daily News.

The melee began when suspect Stephan Stowe, 17, and a group of eight friends approached a Jewish man wearing a yarmulke aboard a Brooklyn-bound 3 train just before 3 p.m. Monday, police sources said Wednesday.

“Assalamu Alaikum,” Stowe said to the man, using a common greeting among Muslims that means, “Peace be with you,” court documents allege.

When the man ignored the greeting, Stowe allegedly became combative.

“You think you’re better than me?” the teen allegedly said. “We are cousins.”

“No we’re not,” The man shot back, and told Stowe to leave him alone.

The suspect then started hurling ethnic slurs and called the man disrespectful, according to court papers.

As the tension aboard the train escalated, the man whipped out his cell phone and took a photo of Stowe, who then snatched the phone and deleted the photo, police sources said.

“I’m going to kill you right now,” Stowe said, according to cops and court records. He then swore at the man, according to cops and court records, and in an apparent reference to the Holocaust added, “They should have killed all of you.”

The man managed to swipe his phone back from Stowe and ran to alert the conductor, police sources said. As the train pulled into the Eastern Parkway/Brooklyn Museum stop, cops were waiting to collar Stowe, police sources said.

But that’s when a mob rose up against the cops.

A pair of police officers struggled to detain Stowe inside the empty train while the angry onlookers swarmed the station’s platform snapping video and yelling at cops, video first published by Gothamist on Wednesday shows.

Good for the cops, doing their jobs and protecting an innocent man, who was minding his own business, from punk, thug Muslims who think they can bully anybody they want. Hope both of those arrested get locked up for a while. It seems the Muslims in this country are making the same mistake that Obama and other liberals have made — pushing their agenda too far. We’ve GOT to keep away from the whole “All Muslims are bad.” thing. Speaking to the commenters on here. But good on the police. They did their job, they didn’t get violent with the crowd. They maintained their cool and did their jobs. Personally I would have sent backup units in equal number, closed the entrance to the train station and everything but the exit. I would use the bullhorn to announce that every bystander who was threatening had 10 seconds to begin to move to the exit. After that, any of those still on the platform will be arrested for obstruction. Have the paddy-wagon enroute to transport them once they were all cuffed and escorted to the surface. I’m anti police state and I’m anti rouge cops. But I’m pro police. They did a good job. These punk kids are nothing but violent.

    • TexasLady

You keep away from “all muslims are bad”. Me? I’m watching my back every time I see one.

      • $5708171

I agree. To me, they are ALL bad. Every one. They are liars, pretending to be good, kind, nice people, then they spring to life and kill hundreds. What we REALLY need is to stop spouting the politically-correct B.S. and start telling the truth, ourselves. Muslims are NOT OUR FRIENDS.

        • singingcowboy674

According to the DHS and the military leaders, Christians are too. Is that true? I know it’s not for me. I agree we need to 86 the bulls==t and get down to Truth and openness. Truth is, your position is in error. And I do realize it is out of emotion and fatigue. And true, many, many Muslims are NOT our friends. But to say NONE of them are our friends you murder according to the words of Christ. Anytime you suppose and condemn without a understanding, you are murdering their character. And I’m not talking about the terrorists and I’m not talking about those sleeper cell operators either. I’m talking about the rest of them. And every single one of them is not part of a sleeper cell that wants to come kill you in the middle of the night. That is nothing but the spirit of fear operating in your life. And if you are content with that then the terrorists have won. Because they have successfully terrorized you. I refuse to be a victim. One of them wants to come kill me I’ll meet them with a paintball of bacon grease. But I’ll not give into a spirit of fear and have it dictate what I think about a stranger on the street because of his religion. I know it’s in err. He probably doesn’t. And most likely he doesn’t follow the law of subjugation. These little punk hot heads are going to get what they deserve. But they aren’t the majority. Don’t let the terrorists win my friend. Talk straight. Just like I am to you. :)

      • singingcowboy674

I do. And I understand your fundamentalist Islamist fatigue. We should definitely always be vigilant. You wouldn’t catch me saying any different. Fact is the majority of them do not follow the law of subjugation. Meaning whatever “the prophet” said last is the one that counts if there are two or more statements that conflict with prior. MOST do not follow that and take the stuff he said before he lost his marbles. Remember that in WWII hundreds of thousands of loyal Americans of Japanese descent were placed in Nazi like internment camps because of the attack on Pearl Harbor. That included babies, young children, those who was unable to POSE a threat. What is happening now is, the US military and the DHS have declared that pro-lifers and Evangelical Christians are potential terrorists and they need to be watched. I’m merely pointing out that as MLK said, let us judge a man by the content of his character and not the color of his skin of his religion. Islam is in grave error. They are under the influence of the spirit of antichrist. But most don’t know it. Be cautious, that’s fine. But do it out of self preservation and not FEAR. Fear is a demonic spirit. Remember scripture says “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” This is not descriptive of being scared of Muslims because they are in a religion who’s extremists are dangerous. And we will never be able to witness to them if we are afraid of them either. Christ is not afraid of them. Christ does not wish them harm. Christ loves them and desires for them to be reconciled with God through Him. But we are His body. And if we don’t fulfill our role in the body of Christ out of fear, satan has won. I don’t like to let satan win. I don’t play defense with satan. I play offense. :) Let’s play offense how bout it? lol

ALL ISLAMISTS ARE avowed to kill us, you protect them all you want! And by all means in America always go the PC ROUTE, never say the truth!

      • singingcowboy674

Oh don’t get me confused with PC. I’m just battling the spirit of fear in you. EXTREMISTS, or those who follow the law of subjugation are, no doubt. MOST of Islam including Sunni and Shii are modernized. Have you ever heard the statement “He who is loudest gets the most attention?” Kind of like atheists. Atheists may cover 5% of the American population. But they are the loudest and they try to throw their weight around. And even THEY are not all alike. The loudest most arrogant and outrageous are a subset of a subset. They are mosquitoes. Just as it is in the homosexual population. They make up a very small part of the population and 70% or so of that population just want to be left alone to do their thing in the privacy of their own home. They are not wanting to force their beliefs on anybody or force anybody to side with them nor want special treatment. But you never hear from those. Who do you hear from? The militant gays. They are the ones pushing the homosexual agenda which is to force homosexuality and the acceptance thereof into the forefront of the public square and gain equality. I’d say the chances of you running into a “sleeper” is maybe a .75% of a chance. And the chances of you being caught up in an incident or someone you know being caught up in an incident is maybe 10% of that. Now, the chances of running into a dumbassed, hot headed kid is greater. There are groups you have to be concerned about and there are groups that you can feel secure around. This portion of this article explains who you need to be weary of and explains some of the fissures between modernized and westernized Muslims and Fundamentalists. Kind of involved but it’s worth the read and it’s something that is essential and that is understanding. Understanding who your enemy IS and who your enemy is NOT.

        What is Wahhabi Islam?

Until recently, most Westerners had never heard of Wahhabi Islam, but we have now repeatedly heard this term with respect to Osama bin Laden and Saudi Arabia. There are many interpretations of Islam, many schools of theology and law.

Among the most ultraconservative is Wahhabi Islam, the
official form of Islam in Saudi Arabia. The Wahhabi movement takes its
name from Muhammad Ibn Abd al-Wahhab (1703-1791), a scholar of Islamic law and theology in Mecca and Medina. Disillusioned by the decline and moral laxity of his society, Abd al-Wahhab denounced many popular
beliefs and practices as un-Islamic idolatry and a return to the
paganism of pre-Islamic Arabia. He rejected blind imitation or
following (taqlid) of past scholarship. He regarded the medieval law of
the ulama (religious scholars) as fallible and, at times, unwarranted
innovations (bida) or heresy. Abd al-Wahhab called for a fresh
interpretation of Islam that returned to the “fundamentals” of Islam,
the Quran and the Sunnah (example) of the Prophet Muhammad.

Muhammad Ibn Abd al-Wahhab joined with Muhammad Ibn Saud, a local
tribal chief, to form a religious-political movement. Ibn Saud used
Wahhabism to legitimate hisjihad to subdue and unite the tribes of
Arabia, converting them to this puritanical version of Islam. Like the
Kharijites, Wahhabi theology saw the world in white and black
categories – Muslim and non-Muslim, belief and unbelief, the realm of
Islam and that of warfare. They regarded all Muslims who did not agree
with them as unbelievers to be subdued (that is, fought and killed) in
the name of Islam. Central to Muhammad Ibn Abd al-Wahhab’s theology was the doctrine of God’s unity (tawhid), an absolute monotheism reflected
in the Wahhabis’ self-designation as “Unitarians” (muwahiddun) those
who uphold the unity of God. In imitation of Muhammad’s destruction of
the pantheon of pre-Islamic tribal gods in Mecca’s sacred shrine
(Kaaba) and its restoration to worship of the one true God (Allah),
Wahhabi puritanism spared neither the sacred tombs of Muhammad and his Companions in Mecca and Medina nor the Shiite pilgrimage site at
Karbala (in modern Iraq) that housed the tomb of Hussein. The
destruction of this venerated site has never been forgotten by Shii
Muslims and contributed to the historic antipathy between the Wahhabi
of Saudi Arabia and Shii Islam both in Saudi Arabia and Iran. Centuries
later, many would point to Wahhabi-inspired iconoclasm as the source
behind the Taliban’s wanton destruction of Buddhist monuments in
Afghanistan, an action condemned by Muslim leaders worldwide.

In the early nineteenth century, Muhammad Ali of Egypt defeated the
Saudis, but the Wahhabi movement and the House of Saud proved resilient.

By the early twentieth century, Abdulaziz Ibn Saud recaptured Riyadh,
united the tribes of Arabia, restored the Saudi kingdom, and spread the
Wahhabi movement. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia melded the political and
religious in a self-declared Islamic state, using the Wahhabi
interpretation of Islam as the official basis for state and society.

Internationally, the Saudis, both government-sponsored organizations
and wealthy individuals, have exported their ultraconservative version
of Wahhabi Islam to other countries and communities in the Muslim world
and the West. They have offered development aid, built mosques,
libraries, and other institutions, funded and distributed religious
tracts, and commissioned imams and religious scholars. Wahhabi
puritanism and financial support have been exported to Afghanistan,
Pakistan, the Central Asian Republics, China, Africa, Southeast Asia,
the United States, and Europe. At the same time, some wealthy
businessmen in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf have provided financial
support to extremist groups who follow a militant “fundamentalist”
brand of Islam (commonly referred to as Wahhabi or Salafi) with
        its jihad culture.

The challenge is to distinguish between the
export of an ultraconservative theology on the one hand and militant
extremism on the other. This difficulty is compounded by the propensity
of authoritarian governments in Central Asia and China, especially
since 9/11, to use the label “Wahhabi extremism” for all opposition,
legitimate and illegitimate, and thus justify widespread repression of
all opposition to their rule and policies.”

        • stonemike

Let these ANGELS OF ISLAM you are so proud of begin to apprehend the terrorists among them and outlaw their ideology and militant rhetoric that targets the whole of humanity, maybe then they can accrue some trust! /But the fact is islam preaches to lie and sucker non muslims and if they are true islamists they are dedicated to the subjugation of all people! You trust them at your PERIL! You must be one of them, they like to believe they instill FEAR in EVERYONE, but I do not FEAR any man, but I will recognize and FIGHT THE ENEMY!

          • singingcowboy674

It is good to be able to recognize one’s enemy and fight one’s enemy. Noting you have to do one before the other. If you fight without identifying who your enemy is, you are likely to swing wildly and attack an innocent.

I myself am a Christian. And not like a Barrack Obama “Christian” either. I’m a blood bought, regenerated, saved by the grace of God, “hollerin preaching” type of Baptist Christian. One of my favorite books is the Gospel according to Smith and Wesson. A man who walks with a big piece is more likely to walk in peace.

I do know that the extremists are taught what you say. And if you read what I said you know that I said that THEY are the ones who mean you harm and those are the ones you have to watch out for. What you are failing to do is identify your enemy. Hell, you even had ME an enemy. You are swinging wildly my friend. Truth be told you ARE afraid. You are showing yourself to be in a state of panic. You’re so dang nervous you couldn’t hit the side of a barn at 50 paces.

I’m not saying there is no justification for concern. I’m not saying to not keep your sensor array up. If need be definitely be able and ready to respond. But making a blanket judgment that just because all terrorists are generally Muslims that all Muslims are terrorists. That kind of thinking is the hallmark of fear.

If you are truly not afraid then there is not a need to fight. You only fight when you feel you are in danger. Fighting is generally born out of fear. Do you follow me? I’m saying be vigelent. Defend yourself if you must. But don’t go attacking women with hijabs just because you that tells you they are Muslim. And you may think that that notion sounds ridiculous and that it is, but it has happened and those times were born out of the same notions you are tinkering with in that noggin of yours.

Educate yourself. Be at peace. Don’t be afraid. Walk your talk. :)

Those you never hear about cause they don’t make headlines. lol Ever heard the analogy that all people from the country are like the guy that the news shows describing the tornado? lol

I condemn evil. But I don’t condemn ignorance. Only when ignorance results in evil do I condemn ignorance. Islam errs and errs greatly. There is a spirit of antichrist attached to it. But just as all Christians don’t believe you should kill someone caught in adultery or witchcraft, or kill homosexuals- most Muslims don’t follow those edicts that are found in their book.

It’s the nation states that pose the thread. Saudi, Turkey, now Egypt. They are spreading it at the sword. Or trying to. The peaceful don’t speak out the same way we generally aren’t calling for Obama’s impeachment left and right. People are afraid of their more violent counterparts. Because their more violent counterparts would just as soon slaughter the nonviolent ones,

As some may have already ascertained, race wars are coming to America. The sissy whites have been living off of fomenting continuous hatred by the non whites. Eventually they will feel the wrath of their own making. Unfortunately both whites and non whites will suffer the stupid destruction of civility and the American culture.
It’s time to start realizing the inevitable and begin moving to circle the wagons. Not much longer now.

That is a crazy video! Here in Chicago, we do not get much right, but the Chicago Police would have made a whole lot of people go home with some bumps on their head. Some cops say to hit them where it will not leave a mark. The Chicago Police believe that the more marks that show the more likely it is that your mother will call you a dummy for messing with the cops. Although here in Chicago, there would have been a gun battle and this would have ended very quickly and very bloody. To quote Dorthy, there is no place like home.

  • Smiley

Hate to say it, but those poor cops! I am surprised that a number of loud mouthed young people showing disrespect are not shot at this type of scene. If a few of them were shot they might shut up and let the police do their job. Of course there would be riots, just because the loud mouths are of a particular persuasion and act as though they do not have to obey police officers. Sickening to see this type of disrespect and out right failure to be courteous.
