HUD Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing: There Goes Everyone’s Neighborhood…

There are also fears that HUD will heighten their strong-arm tactics, filing greater numbers of lawsuits against counties, towns and communities across the nation: Rob Astorino, the Westchester County Executive, was quoted: “What (the AFFH) are trying to do is to say discrimination and zoning is the same thing. They are not … Zoning … protects what can and can’t be built in a neighborhood.”

HUD Secretary, Shaun Donovan, unleashed the AFFH mandate in July, to the NAACP. Donovan stated that a person’s opportunity in life is governed by zip code: “Unfortunately, in too many of our hardest hit communities, no matter how hard a child or her parents work, the life chances of that child, even her lifespan, is determined by the zip code she grows up in.” In order to gain what he wants Donovan reverts to the liberal playbook. No matter how ridiculous, dogma will be replace logic. The truth is that for HUD it is less about “zip codes” than it is about the acquisition of power.

The Lyin’ Ling will not be satisfied until every man, woman and child in the nation has had their freedom squashed under his rapacious thumb. HUD has taken community organizing nationwide and no one is immune. Call AFFH what it is; it is: The Lyin’ King’s recreation of America.

The steps aren’t tiny any more.
