While the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have been controversial, the all-volunteer army means young Americans aren’t being dragged off to war against their will.”
His generational myopia is showing here, reminding us that his self-absorbed, baby-boomer cohort tried to mask their cowardice and unwillingness to defend this country with phony, self-righteous condemnations of the “imperialism” of the war and injustice of racist “Amerika”, or by writing letters in which they declared that they “loathe” the military.
Here’s the best part: “And although politicians continue to generate scandals, the transgressions don’t threaten the integrity of our government as did Watergate.” In Mr. Reich’s world, it doesn’t threaten the integrity of our government when an administration uses the IRS to bully and intimidate citizens attempting to exercise their First Amendment rights. Nor apparently does an orchestrated campaign of ridiculous lies from the President, the Secretary of State and a series of senior officials about the reason that four Americans were murdered in Benghazi on the anniversary of 9/11. How many body bags did Watergate generate?
As I said, I feel sorry for Mr. Reich, and I want to help him, so in my next piece I will cite ten reasons that Americans are angry, and justifiably so. Stay tuned. Until then, please suggest your reasons in the comments.
