The Church: Defending the Rights of Sinners to Sin

1. Get in shape.
This does not just mean bodily, it also means mentally. You can’t exactly call someone out when you weigh 300 pounds and eat pizza by the foot. You also can’t call someone out when you don’t know what in the world you are talking about.

For those of you who are not there yet but are making strides to get there: Keep at it!

2. Do it with patience.
Remember not to get upset when you are discussing Christ with other folks. I am the most guilty of this. You are talking to lost souls most of the time and your patience and self-control will make your words sound a lot louder and a lot more powerful.

3. Remember who you are: a sinner.
We are saved by grace. If it were not for Christ we would be on a flaming nose dive to hell. It is none of your doing that got you in favor with Jesus, so don’t act presumptuously (Ephesians 2:8). Let your counterpart know that you stand humble before the One who purchased you and your arguments will actually hold water.
