If you listen to someone close enough, they will tell you who they really are. That’s why it was such a big deal when then candidate Barack Obama told “Joe the plumber” that he wanted to “redistribute his wealth”. This Freudian Marxist slip indicated what Senator Obama fundamentally believed. Flowery speeches read off of a teleprompter rarely tell us what a candid spontaneous response will. But even from the podium, Obama warned us of what type of politician he would be, if only we listened.
“We are just five days away from fundamentally transforming America” he stated just before the 2008 election – and the crowd cheered! If only the crowd had thought about that statement instead of reacting like a bunch of lemmings with pom poms. Fundamentally changing America? Is that a good thing? Well what are the fundamentals of America? Property rights, limited government, capitalism, freedom – which of those do you want to change? Of course instead of saying, “Wait… what did he just say?”, they started chanting “Obama! Obama!”, just like the Zombies from the movie “The Mummy” wandering through the street chanting, “Imhotep! Imhotep!”, cheering for their own demise.
And will we listen now? The default candidate for the next election appears to be Hillary Clinton. She has described herself as a progressive in the Wilsonian mold. That’s Woodrow Wilson, our nation’s most fascist ex-president. Wilson despised being restricted by the Constitution. More dissidents were jailed in a few years under Wilson than under Mussolini in the entire 1920’s. Wilson created a propaganda ministry that most Communist dictators would be envious of. He also had a civilian army of hundreds of thousands of goons to squash all opposition. Hmmm, that sounds familiar:
“We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.” -Senator Barack Obama 2008
Were we listening? Are we now? Obama never got to build his army of Wilsonian goons but who among us doesn’t believe that Hillary would take things to the next level? It can’t happen here? It already did and the leading progressives are hoping to bring it back!
