BOOM: Rick Perry Rocks CPAC, Brings the House Down!

THE HILL – Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) rallied the early morning crowd to its feet to kick off the second day of the Conservative Political Action Conference, giving one of the more rousing speeches so far delivered at the three-day event.

“It is time for Washington to focus on the few things the Constitution establishes as the federal government’s role. Defend our country, provide a cogent foreign policy, and what the heck, deliver the mail, preferably on time and on Saturdays,” Perry said, bouncing on his heels and waving his fist, whipping the conservative crowd into a frenzy.

“Get out of the healthcare business. Get out of the education business. Stop hammering industry. Wake the sleeping giant of American enterprise,” Perry said to roaring cheers.

If he’s running for lead cheerleader you’ve got my vote. Otherwise
no thank you as president. I seen you in the 2012 debates, I wouldn’t have voted for you in 2012. And I won’t vote for you in 2016. I refuse to vote for the lesser of 2 evils.
ever again.(You can thank Bush for ruined that political campaign tactic for the GOP.)

    • Marilyn Assenheim

I disagree; he seems to have sharpened his public speaking sills quite a bit since 2012. Moreover, he hasn’t changed his tune about what’s important to him. By the crowd’s reaction, and that of many, many listeners of his speech, I’d say Mr. Perry has his finger squarely on the pulse of the constituency.
Don’t forget that what’s good for Texas differs from what may be the case when it comes to running an entire nation. Perry may not be the best choice but it looks as if he and other Conservatives are going to force 3016 presidential choices to be more than just the usual, Republican clown show of establishment candidates. And that’s very good.

      • FrankLuska

        Missed Paul speech? eh’,

      • Flossie

I find it so refreshing to hear a speech where every 4 or 5 words is not “uh” “uh”!

        • Bighoss

However uh-less Perry’s speech might have been, you do NOT want that looney Dominionist theocrat in the Oval Office!

          • Flossie

I live in Texas…………..He has done a lot of good here! Our unemployment is very low and we have excess money. Not completely broke like California and New York! I read in the Houston Chronicle that 1000 people are migrating to Texas daily! Mostly from California.

¡Yo! Manure face! Maybe a Fire Breathing, Bible thumping believer is what we need to take the holy war declared on us (despite the “Silence of the ‘Lambs to slaughter’ political, academia and media classes) by the “Practitioners of the ‘Religion of Peace’ “, and shove it up their Muslim arse’s instead. It ain’t goin’ away on its own.

“seems to have sharpened his public speaking skills”

        OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK???

      • jimshaw54

Speaking skills are one thing, DEBATING skills another. He gives a good speech, but after the disastrous 2012 primaries he will have to prove his debating skills to voters. He may be able to sell his ideas to conservatives, but in order to become president he will have to be able to sell his ideas to Independents and some more moderate Democrats, too.
The problem non-Democrats have is their need of someone who can out-debate whoever the Dems. nominate. Dems. have a stronger hold on their voters than Repubs. and the Repubs. missed the boat with Romney. For all of his many (mostly personal) faults, Newt Gingrich would have taken Obama to the mat in a short time and cleaned his clock in short order. Unless Rick Perry has made tremendous strides in the past few years he will not pass the muster of enough voters to get elected. We can’t afford to mess up this time.
Fortunately, the RNC has decided that having liberals in the press as moderators of all debates may not be such a good idea. Hopefully they will also make enough noise that the Repub./Dem. debates aren’t moderated by those who have Dem. skin in the game — aka most of the main stream media.

    • milchap

“I refuse to vote for the lesser of 2 evils”…so your non-vote means that it takes two votes to overcome your non-vote. If those millions who voted for McCain but did not vote for Romney in 2012 had voted, Romney may well have won the election. If you are talking about “evils”, there is no comparison between 2012 candidates. Too bad so many people refused to vote for the “lesser of two evil.” Now, we have evilness personified.

    • LetsJustVoidTheBillOfRights

Have a look at TEXAS and Her economy under Perry, you MORON, then show me a better one. And you are a troll. You were NEVER a Republican voter. See right thru ya, ASSWIPE…!

I love Perry because his Texas-ness get’s the best of him.

  • Brian_R_Allen

Had he — far and away the best candidate — not showed up so soon after his back surgery and while still medicated for the pain for that disasterous debate during the 2012 primaries,** who knows? We’d likely be looking forward to 2016 and to the reelection of President Perry!

(**And had the Huckabee-Finn-like hand-wringing, whining, sniveling, pissing and moaning Mr Santorum not done so dirty a deal as that he pulled with the Romney Gang)

    • Thinker

I cannot ever give Huckabee any respect after his low down hit at Romney. Really spoke well for a”learned “man of the cloth.

      • Brian_R_Allen

He’s a smarmy one. Creepy! As is Santorum.

        • Bighoss

Only if I bought into your scurrilous advice. But if bus station restrooms get you excited, then help yourself.

  • FrankLuska

Perry the cheerleader, got a few people excited, why not talk about Paul, you got the entire place excited. Republicans still have a long way to go, and they are still trying to force their will onto others, instead of working for what the majority of the party wants. Wake Up!

    • LetsJustVoidTheBillOfRights

Paul is a good man. Good heart. …and UNELECTABLE, just as his daddy was. How is it you IDIOTS cannot figger that out and join the fight to oust THE OBAMANATION and his communist rapists, instead of gumming up the works and sacrificing America for a LOST CAUSE…??

  • jim adams

Sounding like the professional politico that he is! Isn’t professional politics what has been wrong in DC for decades?

We don’t need no steenkin’ Dominionists!

Rick Perry is a pliant tool of the anti-Constitutional “Christian Dominionist” movement, an “ideology which demands that fundamentalist Christians take total control over all aspects of society.” – See more at: http://www.rightwingwatch.org/content/perry-partners-founder-seven-mountains-dominionism-prayer-rally#sthash.TAih1jzw.dpuf

Would you care to elucidate on your less-than-humble opine, op-hiney one? HeII, if you’re that good, give us something presidential yer own Damn self. Maybe we’ll draft you to run for the office – if yer good enough, that is.

  • VapeDude

Hope is all we have, and to hear a speech like this just makes me smile. Its good to hear, now lets put a plan into action. When will the morons all wake up and take notice. What your allowing is nothing less than destruction. If your one of them people you should be ashamed of yourself.

  • Josie

If he had done this during his campaign he would have won. Where was this fire when we were desperately searching for it?

    • Lever Gun will Travel

I saw him give several speeches like this during the last campaign. There was zero coverage on the press. They only wanted to air the moment of silence. No on reported on his beliefs, his plan, or anything of relevance. The MSM did not want you to hear what he had to say. They only wanted to trip him and make fun of him because they are deathly afraid of his message.

      • Josie

I have not watched MSM for at least 6 yrs now so can’t blame it on them. I have dif sources to get news, mostly on message boards and from conservative groups, programs. I did not see this from him. Too bad if this is who he is that we did not have the chance to see it. This is what most are looking for.

  • J Cooper

    He’s this, their that, he’s a liar, she’s a liar…. All I know is.. this ****** has got to go !!!

  • foxxybey

The man speaks the truth and the left hangs their hats on all powerful government, any one with that mind set is destroying this once great nation because their hands are always out wanting to rob the rich to pay for all their stuff and need to get their brainless heads out of where the sun don’t shine. God Bless America:

  • Carol

Here we go again. Shoving rinos in our faces. You can see it coming.

    • sovereigntyofone

As much as I hate to admit it, I think you may be right.
Until this nation starts getting ” salt of the earth ” candidates to run, that’s all we are going to see. We need people that come from every day life. Successful farmers, people that do honest work for a living that knows what it’s like to fight every day just to make ends meet.

      • DaCoachK

Doing “honest work for a living” eliminates all lawyers.

        • MyronJPoltroonian

          ROFLMAO!!!

      • Carol

Yes I really believe thats how it was supposed to be all this time. People who have to go back and live in what they forced on us without benifits for life for one or two terms. Who in the real world gets benifits for life for 6 to 8 years of work?

  • Ray Burby

Okay, I know I’m about to be clubbed like a baby harp seal but, the first two minutes looked and sounded like an opening monoloug for an Austin Powers pep rally. I basically agree with what he had to say but the presentation was far from polished or presidential. He looked like he was forcing the emotions while trying to whip up the crowd. If he’s really going to be a serious candidate, he needs to deliver a speech and debatable skills without looking like a third world actor out of Ballywood.

    • sovereigntyofone

There towards the end I thought he was going to morph into Howard Dean and proclaim ” We’re going to take back Washington D.C. .. Yeah ! ” lol
Other than that he said some good things.

      • Ray Burby

I was also thinking about the “Dean scream” scenario! Thank God he didn’t go there!

    • Henry L

We got some polished and presidential speeches out of Obama. Look where that got us.

    • Tonya-Clay Davis

He pulled the same melodramatic crap at the Texas Republican convention. Towards the end of his speech I said to myself, “If he starts f*ckin’ crying I’m outta here.”

  • Co2

He spoke to people like he is a ‘people’. He sees the potential in America and Americans, all nationalities, all dreams. Take away the dreams like O’s doing and we are left with a hollow shell drowning is debt. Freedom is not just for the top crust.

    • Tonya-Clay Davis

So he spoke well. So what.

      • C20

I never said he ‘spoke well. So what?

  • Oldtymepatriot

I hope the establishment GOP is getting a message from what the speakers and attendees at CPAC are sending. America doesn’t want a Progressive Democrat Party or a GOP (Dem Lite) Party that George Wallace nailed in 1968 when he said “There isn’t a dime’s worth of difference between the Democratic and Republican parties.”

  • DaCoachK

I hope he runs and wins in 2016. His 2012 run was uninspired. Maybe he will get it right this time.

  • MyronJPoltroonian

I am awaiting Mrs. Palin’s CPAC address with great anticipation. When everyone’s so dismissive of her from Statist’s of both parties, Socialist’s, and the MSM, to Paul-bots, you know she scares the HeII out of ‘em and with good reason. She’s right, she’s willing and she’s able.

  • Chuck S

I’m still waiting to hear when the “Conservative” part starts. Just calling themselves Conservative doesn’t make it so, and a lot of their platform speakers have demonstrated a lack of Conservative convictions on multiple occasions. There may be one or two real Conservatives behind the podium, but their message is pretty hard to hear over the RINOs telling each other what great Conservatives they are. I think I’ll just send my money to FreedomWorks and other actual Conservative PACs.

    • Sam

I don’t blame you. Those places are good.

  • Ewade

All you poor suckers still think elections matter. Sad.

    • MyronJPoltroonian

There are three ways to vote; with our hands, with our feet and, if absolutely necessary, with our arms. Remember: “Always aim just below the blue helmet. No matter what color it is.”

  • Sweet, Innocent, and Lovable

Einstien said it best “Stupidy is doing the samething over and over expecting different results” The GOP keeps putting RINOS out there and you jokers keep voting for them. Then you wonder why it does not get better

    • rsdcllc

What is your example of a non-RINO?

      • Iam Chosen

        Ted Cruz

        • rsdcllc

He’s a work in progress. Hopefully, he’s the real deal.

      • Taskmasterendgame

        tsdcllic
Sara Palin Allen West Ted Cruz Michel Buckmann
        Mark Levin

        • rsdcllc

          Those are good examples.

  • Iam Chosen

I can’t believe they would invite Perry to attend, let alone ‘speak’ at
the CPAC Conference! If anyone actually researches Perry’s voting
records and looks at the actions he’s taken, you would be blind not to
see straight-up crony capitalism!!! Unless God shakes him up, the way
Apostle Paul was when he was Saul, we’re screwed if he runs in 2016… Perry’s just another globalist, RINO, who cares about nothing more then making money. Don’t be deceived folks…do your homework and you’ll find the truth!

  • Shermer

It looks to me that the GOP continues to trot out all the usual suspects, the ones who were dismal failures last time around, and cheer them on as the saviours of the nation. Then the same old prospects get beaten on election day, and they blame everyone but themselves.

  • Softie

The liberty school realizes that those quacks who exploit democratic processes for their own purposes may destroy liberty and prosperity.

  • larrygrant876

Oh how I wish I could get excited but I thought I heard Santa Clause on the roof in 2008 and 2012 but it damn sure it wasn’t him. We have one party who are so good at stealing elections that now they just do it out in the open and nothing happens, and we have one party who doesn’t do anything but go along with the election thieves and helps them carry the boxes of newly found ballots to the car. I have just about given up on anything but guns and groceries.

  • texas57

He’s done great for Texas, BUT I’ll be damened if he needs to be prez. Give me Cruz or Rand Paul, just sayin he is a RINO. .

  • Michael Geer

Wake me when Democrats and their funders start serving life sentences ..

  • Luther Williamson

Give the man some credit. All you are doing is running your fat lip. Get off your ass, let’s here you speak about what is going on in this BLACK administration.
