When you think of 9/11, what comes to mind? The obvious, disturbing vision that impales your brain is the images of two towers crumbling to the ground filled with innocent human souls. An act of sheer evil and barbarity that only the devil could have masterminded.
With the 9/11 museum almost to completion, set to open on May 21st, one would almost have to lay money on the fact that at least one fanatical persons or group would see an opportunity to cry discrimination. Inside the museum will be many historical testaments to what happened that fateful day.
There will be artifacts found around the crime scene on display, as well as columns that had once held up the majestic buildings and photographs of the horror that will likely bring chills to the arms of many. Undoubtedly one of the most significant and powerful displays in the museum will be the less than 7 minute movie The Rise of Al Qaeda. Narrated by NBC News anchor Brian Williams, “it uses language such as “Islamist” and “Jihad” when describing the Muslim terrorists that carried out their mission in the name of Allah.
Sheik Mostafa Elazabawy, an emphatic Manhattan Muslim Cleric, showed his disdain by writing a letter to the museums director saying the movie would “greatly offend” devoted members of his faith. He proceeded on by saying “Unsophisticated visitors who do not understand the difference between Al Qaeda and Muslims may come away with a prejudiced view of Islam, leading to antagonism and even confrontation toward Muslim believers near the site”.
Let’s just call a spade a spade, or in this case an Islamist an Islamist. No matter how much whining that goes on from the Muslim community, you can’t change or re-write history. The 19 hijackers were “Jihadists” and they were killing in the name of Allah against their “Great Satan”! How dare any member of the Muslim community even utter one breath or one syllable, pertaining to what should or should not be put into the 9/11 museum.
Perhaps Elazabawy should turn his focus to how members of his religion think it’s acceptable to behead a person simply because they are Christian or because they are American. Maybe instead of attacking a 9/11 memorial, Elazabawy should turn his spotlight on a little thing known as “Sharia Law” or the brutality happening against Muslim woman and children. Surely his efforts and dying need to expose unjust and unwarranted attacks could be subdued by turning his attentions elsewhere. Political Correctness need not apply here, as it is the truth that Americans are desiring, especially in the face of terrorism. A heavy dose of STFU is desperately needed in this situation!
2,977 Americans perished due to the senseless acts of 9/11. Given the magnitude of what happened to Americans on that day and what continues to happen, it is understandable that Americans would not trust or want to embrace the Muslim community. Through no fault of their own, they have been thrust into a dark vision of what Islam is all about by the hands of radical Muslims. The Pin Ball Wizard could see, hear, and know what this “peaceful” religion is all about. As time goes on and people are still healing even after 13 years, the only real words of significance regarding 9/11 that Mr. Elazabawy and any other of the Muslim faith need to remember are…”We will never forget”.
