While certain successes, such as penicillin’s discovery, may be accidental and thus have little merit, many useless failures have been undertaken with great merit.

Great concept. Wish it had been around when I was young enough to get into the Octagon. Great seeing Christian men being real men. Sorry Nancy boy Christians this isn’t for you.

In this they follow a old tradition. John Peter Gabriel Mulenberg showed up one Sunday and threw off his vestment to reveal a Col. uniform in the Connential Army. You must not be luke warm in you beliefs or I will spit you from my mouth.

Rose so-called fighting pastors will have difficulty finding Jesus as an example for their actions. What happens to “less of me and more of Jesus”?

Not only that, the Bible clearly states that pastors should not be violent men.

1Ti 3:3 not a drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money.

Titus says nearly the same thing:

Tit 1:7-8 For an overseer, as God’s steward, must be above reproach. He must not be arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent or greedy for gain, (8) but hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined.

This is a difficult subject to get across. The Bible is full of war. David fought his enemies and was a man after God’s own heart. He also committed adultery and murder. How do you teach men to defend themselves and their family and still not be a brawler? The trick is what are you fighting for? Jesus said we would be blessed if we are persecuted for His name sake. But I also don’t see where we are to be slaughtered without a fight. If God truly loves His Bride, who would allow their bride to be raped and murdered? As long as your fighting is for practice or a just cause, I see no problem. To twist that into never raising your fist under any circumstances is just idiotic and a lie from the father of lies. Jesus beat the dealers at the Temple with a whip because they made His Fathers House into a den of thieves as he took our punishment on the cross without a sound.
It is wrong to teach our men that they should never raise a fist to follow God. It is also incumbunt to Christian fathers to make sure they don’t raise bullies. Now try to teach that from the pulpit without the pew sitters twisting everything into a pretzel. If a bully comes to the playground, I have no problem with my son protecting himself and others. If I ever heard that he was the bully, he would have me to deal with.
Our country was founded by Christians with guns that refused to bow to tyranny. As Christians they wrote their grievances down to show the rightiousness of their position, then went out and shot their persecutors.
