I read Doug Giles article “Should Christian Parents Train Their Kids to Kill if Necessary ?” It was his response to a caller who asked if Jesus would carry a weapon. A more apt question would be “Would Jesus use a weapon?” or “Would Jesus advocate a self defensive shooting?”
Exodus 22:2: If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him ( no punishment for smiting a thief .
If you believe in the Bible, Exodus 22 demands justice be given to both the owner ( Restitution ) and the thief ( He was smitten ); then the blame falls on the thief .
Matthew 24:43: But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched and would not have suffered his house to broken up.
A good man will stop the thief. This seems to say to me that a good man (“goodman”) if he was aware that a thief was coming. would not have allowed his house to be broken up ( I read as broken into – But I’m not a biblical scholar ). He would have arranged to be home and to smite the thief .
Then there was an article that a ninety-year-old man man shot in the face by a burglar is sued by the burglar for shooting back at him . This leads me to believe that parents should train the kids to be good shots. Self defense allows for the lethal use of force. Dead men don’t sue. So if the “goodman” was also a good shot the thief would be smitten and rendered to no longer be a threat.
Smite – to attack with disastrous effect ( Webster’s Dictionary ). This does not mean killing after the threat has stopped, but self defense allows for lethal defense until the threat is stopped.
Speaking of defense, I wonder why has the government conducted mock city invasions by our military and National Guard. Why have they requested 15,000 Russian troops be available to pre-position near Washington, D.C. in the event of an emergency ? Hmmmmm, the preposition means that they are planning for this emergency to occur and can time it well enough to know when these troops need to be prepositioned .
Could this possibly mean that they are going to create the emergency ? Why would an administration that never wants a good emergency to go to waste want to create one ?
Why would the government need foreign peacekeepers? Could it be that they don’t trust the U.S. military to support the emergency that they have planned ?
Don’t believe me but do a search on a government that buys 1 1/2 billion rounds of ammunition; and Obama orders Russian troops for disaster relief.
[Editor’s Note: Some sources insist this agreement only allows the exchanging of emergency management experts, not security or military personnel.]
I don’t know anything about anything being planned, but I can see the deck being stacked. I believe that a goodman needs to be prepared to defend himself against government asset seizures ( the thief ), as well as being prepared for other governmental emergencies ( where they exceed their Constitutional powers ) .
My family believes that by my writings I have made every government “list” that involves the government getting rid of its “enemies “ . I prefer to believe that I am a friend of Constitutional government, and have, in fact, taken an oath to protect and defend it against all “enemies “ foreign and domestic. If the government does decide to eliminate my “voice” I will, at least, be in good company ( hence the title of the article ).
I pray that the pen is in fact mightier than the sword and that I may play a small part in reestablishing a Constitutional government . I fear that the pen won’t be enough and that we’ll have to depend on God, Jesus his Son, and our biblically inspired Constitution ( 2nd amendment ); or preferably an Article V Constitutional Convention to reign in government’s overreach of its powers.
