A second British hostage being threatened with death by ISIS was today revealed as Alan Henning.

Islamic militants warned in a sickening video that the 47-year-old, who is originally from the Greater Manchester area, would be the next person to die after father-of-two David Haines.

Mr Henning is believed to have been working for a Muslim charity and had originally thought that he would be released by ISIS because he was only in Syria to carry out aid work.

The development came as David Cameron said today that people will be ‘sickened’ that the man who killed Mr Haines could be from Britain.

The Prime Minister described Mr Haines as a ‘British hero’ – and warned: ‘We will hunt down those responsible and bring them to justice no matter how long it takes.’

ISIS were ‘not Muslims they are monsters’, he said, and added that UK could not afford to ignore the severe threat the jihadists’ spread posed to both world and domestic security.

He said: ‘This is not something we can do on our own. We have to work with the rest of the world.
