THIS SCHOOL SUCKS: School Yanks U.S. Flag from Vehicles on 9/11

This High School Principal removed American flags that were mounted on the back of students’ trucks on 9/11 because according to school policy it caused a “distraction”. Check it out…

Woodruff High School Principal Aaron Fulmer said he was simply enforcing long-standing district policy when he removed American flags from students’ trucks on Thursday.

Fulmer said he appreciates the students’ patriotism and understands why they flew the flags on Sept. 11, when the nation remembered the deadliest terrorist attack on U.S. soil. But, while he acknowledges complaints he’s received, he said he cannot discriminate in enforcing policy.

The four students came to school on 9/11 with large American flags mounted on posts in their truck beds. Fulmer removed the flags from their trucks and returned them at the end of the school day.

He said the students were not punished or scolded. He said he told them: “I’m not mad at you. We’re not upset at you. I applaud your patriotism.” But rules are rules, and Fulmer explained the district’s policy to the students.

District 4 Superintendent Rallie Liston said the issue is not about the American flag. He said the students violated a rule against anything that creates a disturbance on campus or draws an “unusual amount of attention to oneself.” He said students can display the American flag on their vehicles, such as in the form of a sticker.
