The Robertson family is far from shy when it comes to sharing opinions on a variety of issues. The stars of A&E’s hit reality series ‘Duck Dynasty’ have amassed a loyal audience anxious to devour their homespun wisdom regarding hunting, faith, and, in some cases, even politics.
That outspokenness led to patriarch Phil Robertson’s short-lived suspension from the program after he made some Bible-based remarks regarding sexuality several months ago. When his fans reacted en masse to the controversy, however, A&E executives quickly reversed their decision.
As it turns out, the family’s penchant for advocacy is not limited to those members appearing on the cable show. Western Journalism reported earlier this year that Willie Robertson’s cousin, Zach Dasher, had decided to seek Louisiana’s 5th District congressional seat.
Dasher’s famous kin, as one might expect, are enthusiastic supporters.
“He’s one of the smartest young guys I know,” Willie Robertson said of Dasher, adding that his cousin has “the full support of the family.”
