White House staffers left their offices and took to the Capitol steps today in protest of the grand jury decisions to not indict the officers involved in the Michael Brown or Eric Garner arrests.
The protest—organized and planned for a 3:30 PM start time on the Congressional steps, included The Congressional Black Associates, Senate Black Legislative Staff Caucus, the Brooke-Revels Society, the Congressional African Staff Association, and the African American Women on the Hill Network. They organized the protest as a “show of unity and solidarity… to stand shoulder to shoulder with other peaceful demonstrations.”
