I listened to a Sean Hannity radio blurb the other day and there was a female pundit on his panel. (I suppose it’s sometimes hard to get people with a brain on your show.) She was loud and kept hogging the “mike time.” At one juncture as the host was trying to make a pretty obvious and cogent point…she again failed to hold her pie-hole an extra moment and had to jump on Sean’s words and ask this gem…”But don’t you think the officer should have considered [before he shot in self defense] whether the young gentle college student [robbery “suspect”] before him wasn’t, possibly, a victim of the larger societal crime caused by [white privilege, poverty, racism (fill in the blank here)____________]?” You could have cut the condescension with a knife.
I missed the rest of her boring/enlightening commentary because I was having difficulty cruising down the road and laughing at the same time.
Then I got home and soon learned about the St. Louis “Solidarity” Rams and their expression of approval of the ransacking, looting and arson some of their fans were committing in Ferguson. These clownish fellows are multi-millionaires simply because for a few brief years they are able to jump higher and run faster than a few of their professional peers. While many of their racial peers in Ferguson are suffering and wondering how they will replace what they have lost to the looters and arsons these Rams are “solid” with, these “solid” Rams are enjoying their brief moment in the spotlight appearing to be enlightened and transcendent. (I wondered if their academic records had also been sealed safely away, like certain other great personages among us who promised a vote for them would halt the rising of the seas, melting of glaciers and polar ice, halt unproven climate change, etc.?)
I thought things couldn’t get any gloomier…as the barbarians seemed to have gotten inside the gates without even a nod or wink from the guardians of what Reagan called “a city on a hill”; or was it the “World’s last/only hope?” But I was wrong.
I then learned Obama would be meeting with the looters …ooops!…I mean “leaders” of the looters…ooops! …I mean protesters. I look forward to even more mindless condescension from the likes of Reverends Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson (aka “Failed Father of The Year”), neither of whom actually pastor a church anywhere…and have never released their academic records, either. Is anything about liberal/progressive/commie/pukes ever real or true?
It promises to be a fun news week.
