BILLY CRYSTAL SLAMS THE GAYSTAPO: ‘Pushing It A Little Too Far for My Taste’
Now Billy Crystal will have to be re-educated for not believing that there should be so much gay sex on TV.
While participating on a panel interview with the Television Critics Association, Crystal shared his thoughts on gay sex and scenes on television and immediately came under fire after being asked if it was difficult for him to play a gay man in the 1970’s. He was also asked about his thoughts on what has happened on television since.
Crystal replied, I’ve seen some stuff recently on TV on different kinds of shows where the language or the specific sex is, you know, sometimes I get it, sometimes I feel like, ah, it’s too much for me.
He added, “”Sometimes I think: ‘Ah that’s too much for me’. Sometimes, it’s just pushing it a little too far for my taste and I’m not going to reveal to you which ones they are. I hope people don’t abuse it and shove it in our face to the point where it feels like an every-day kind of thing.”
