RELIGION OF PEACE? Hate Aimed at Peaceful Religion Misplaced

Which religion of peace? One kills in the name of God, spreads fear, hate and actively silences those with whom they disagree. The one that is silent on the fear and hate and are protected from any violation of their beliefs from the secular world? The one that advocates for peace and human dignity? The one that speaks out against those among them who voice hate, yet they are still pilloried worldwide and forced to violate their beliefs by the secular world?

One is Muslim, the other Christian. Figured it out yet?

Before you “pointer outers” start yelling about “The Bible says THIS” yep, it sure does… in the Old Testament. What you fail to recognize is that when Christ came he fulfilled the old law (Old Testament) and instituted a new law which provided salvation for all. When you look at what Christ did, there is no way you can say that He stood for anything other than human dignity.

Christ ministered to the broken and the sinner. He ate with tax collectors, he healed the lepers, the sick, the infirm, the blind, deaf and insane (or as they believed those inhabited by evil spirits). He forgave the sins of all, Jew or Gentile, and told them to “go and sin no more.” He reached out to the Gentiles and the Samaritans. He was called out by the Jewish leaders of the time for doing so, but Christ saw that we are all God’s children, made in His image, deserving of His love and dignity.

Oh, and that Christian “war on women?” Jesus had many women followers and friends. He didn’t separate Himself from women, nor did he find it problematic that they were leaders among his followers. Mary and Martha, Mary Magdalene, Mary His mother… all were honored among Jesus and his Apostles.

Nowhere did Christ call for violence against others.

Yes, there are those among Christians who are hateful. Westboro Baptists come to mind. However, ask your average Christian their opinion and they will repudiate their hate as unchristian.

Oh yeah, violence perpetrated in the name of Christianity against all others… right, the Crusades. Seriously??? You have to go back more than a THOUSAND YEARS to find “violence perpetrated against Muslims,” which, historically, isn’t what it was. Try 1) staying current, please; and 2) learning history before making yourself look foolish… thanks.

Islam doesn’t believe in any human dignity, unless you are born Muslim. It allows non-Muslims to be treated as third class citizens or even killed, converts as second class citizens and women as sub-human. Islamic scripture states that Allah only loves the perfect Muslim. If you sin, even a little, Allah withholds his love of you. If you aren’t Muslim, Allah hates you. You can only be saved if you are a perfect, sinless Muslim.

While Christians also believe that salvation is only through faith in Christ, no one is kept from Heaven. God wants all to come to faith in Him, and provided Christ as the path. Allah wants all to become Muslim, but he won’t guarantee Heaven even if you do. Islam teaches that at the end of your life, Allah weighs your good works against your bad works and if the good outweighs the bad, you might get into Heaven (Sura 23:103), or you might not (Sura 9:15, 27).

Then there is the whole “peaceful” religion thing. Islam is perfectly ok with all of the following:

— In Paris, France, masked gunmen stormed the offices of a satirical newspaper in retaliation for their spoofing of Mohammed. They killed 12 people before escaping and were heard yelling “Allahu Akbar” and “We are avenging the Prophet!”

— Terrorist bombings all over the world, targeting civilians, trains, buses, buildings and restaurants. The World Trade Center in 1993, 9/11, Boston Bomber, etc. Now let’s remember the glee that we saw from “peaceful” and “mainstream” Muslims in the Middle East after each of these. Do you remember them all dancing in the streets? No repudiation of “extremists” to be found.

— Beheadings of Christians and anyone not Muslim. Death penalties meted out for apostasy, or leaving Islam, justified in Suras 4:89 and 9:5,12.

— Female genital mutilation, sex slavery, “honor” killings and degradation of women.

— An entire Muslim world in the Middle East calling for the obliteration of Israel and Jews worldwide.

Then there’s the huge outcry by the mainstream Islamic world against these “fringe” elements and sentiments. Oh, wait… “Experts” claim that terrorists and terrorist organizations, ISIS and the like, are only 1% of the Islamic world, yet very few Muslims speak out against this “extremism.” Some say it’s out of fear, but actually it is part and parcel of their religion.

The Quran states that “unbelievers”, described as the “worst beasts in God’s sight” (Sura 8:7), are not to be obeyed (Sura 33:1) nor can Muslims be friends with them (Suras 58:14-15, 60:1, and 60:13). The Quran obliges every able Muslim to participate in jihad and “fight in the way of Allah, those who fight you, and kill them wherever you find them.” Islam will only be a peaceful religion when all competing religions have been brought into submission to Islam (Sura 9:29). Speaking out isn’t done because they don’t believe it is wrong to kill, maim and subjugate everyone else in the world.

Christians are told to witness to the world about Christ…convert or die is found in the Bible at… where is that again? Oh, right, NOWHERE!

Islam isn’t the religion of peace. Hating Christianity won’t change that.
