So this week we all began hearing a story about a little Muslim boy who was humiliated at school and arrested all because he wanted to show his āinventionā to his teachers. Everyone from the left got involved and on social media the many iterations of āI Stand With Ahmedā were to the point of making me nauseous. To top it all off the President invited this young man and his parents to be his guests at the White House. This kid is now the poster child victim for Islamophobia in the United States. However, now that the dust has settled and the smoke has cleared, reasonable people are seeing that this is again just another instance of manufactured racism.
Lets start with this young manās father. His father is a well-known Muslim activist and has run for president twice in his native country of Sudan. To add to the growing number of coincidences this incident also took place in a town that recently voted against Sharia Law much to the dismay of the Muslim population in Irving, TX. Finally a few engineers decided to take a look at this mystery clock that Ahmed āinvented.ā What they found was he really didnāt invent anything at all. He took the guts out of an old alarm clock and placed them in a pencil box. Honestly a feat that anyone could do and it involves no technical know-how past opening the alarm clock.
He showed the clock originally to his engineering teacher who told him that he had done a great job and warned him that it looked like some sort of dangerous device and that he should not take it out in any of his other classes. So the first teacher he showed it to did not freak out and tackle him or any crazy stuff like that. He told him it was a good job. However, Ahmed walked into his very next class, pulled out the device and set an alarm to go off in the middle of class. He intended to make a scene. When the police were called they remarked in their report that Ahmed was āpassive aggressiveā and āevasiveā when answering questions, which is what prompted their arrest of the 14 year old.
Now this is being portrayed as something that would only happen to a ābrown childā, but this is categorically false. Lets look at the story of this white child. Josh Welch was suspended from school after he chewed his Pop-Tart into the shape of a handgun. Another case is that of Alex Stone. Stone was arrested and suspended from his high school after writing a fictional story about shooting his neighbor’s pet dinosaur. So, please spare me the āitās a brown kid problem.ā
What we really have here is a bullsh*t problem.
Doc Out!
