THE WAR OF WORDS: Doing Whatever It Takes to Call Out Dirty Politicians

by Les Weaver

A few days ago, a close friend stated the conclusion that I have declared a “War of Words” against most politicians.  At first I laughed it off but later I began thinking: Yes, I am in a War of Words and my enemy is most politicians, on both sides of the aisle.

Then I began to self-analyze why and when this war began.

I thought back to when I was a youth, through my military service and well into my working years; into the 1960’s.  All of those years, I respected our government office holders, superior military officers and bosses. Although disagreements sometimes came to the fore, they were discussed with mutual respect both up and down the chain.  Civility was the catalyst that bonded all and led to acceptable conclusions of problems or differences.  I had been taught that if you didn’t respect the person, then respect their office and their functions, responsibilities and burdens; that too until the 1960’s.

Then it became clear that the highest levels of government, (Johnson White House and Cabinet) blatantly and deliberately lied to the U.S. citizens about the “Bay of Tonkin Incident”.  From then on, (although I totally support every G.I.) most of what we were told by the White House and Dept. of Defense about Viet Nam was encased in lies.  For nearly a decade, trust of our government went down-hill.

During the next sixteen years, (through Presidents 38 through 41) the trust began a slow but cautious rebuild.  Then came 42; a polished liar and crook that will likely not be totally exposed for a few more decades.  I believe 43 did his honest best but 9-11, Katrina and false information about WMDs in the Gulf War and a very Liberal Congress gave opportunity to disparage him and this will haunt his legacy for a few more years before his true character will be accepted.

Then came 44, his tsars, cabinet and an ultra-liberal progressive, (Socialist/neo-Marxist) congress.  The rule of law has been set aside.  The Federal Court System has been loaded with disregard for but one thing: will they rule in favor of the President’s bidding?  The Constitution has been ignored or re-interpreted from its founding intent.  Many laws are totally ignored based on the whim of the White House.  Number 44 was expected to be the “Great Uniter” of the citizens but in fact has promoted hostility between every group imagined; i.e., race, religion, gender, education, political leanings, sexual preference, and so much more.

In 2009 began the spewing of labels to the citizenry from 44 and his closest followers. They were designed to intimidate, harass, belittle, shame and isolate selected persons and/or groups into cliques.  At this time, almost no one is void of one of these derogatory intended titles.  (See: ClashDaily articles here and here).  These labels range from “Anti-American” to “Crazies” and is spewed as verbal vomit toward those that disagree with this Administration.  These labels have reached beyond those heard in a Kindergarten playground but that’s because they originate from a lesser mentality.

Additive is the lies.  Honor, honesty and integrity are attributes of the long past.  Many promises are made; few kept.  Half-truths or plays on words are the norm.  And then the politicians request that we “trust them” again, and again and again……

And to this clique of political garbage, a growing number of so-called conservatives have joined hands.  Our government that was intended to serve the people has become a circular firing squad and enclosed the people within that circle.  Each politician has citizens as targets as well as a politician on the other side and they spray crap labels with ferocity.

I have reached the point where I have gone from respect of a person to only respect of office and then abandoned even that to finally settled on no respect until proven they and the office equally merit it; and I will solely judge that merit, believing no one else.

Now as we approach an election year, a few debates are about issues but generally the debates are founded on digging up and exposing dirt on the opponent and his/her supporters. I say; “Hooray” if it exposes corruption but I don’t give a damn about their childhood errors.  I do care if a politician has received bribery, payoffs or favored treatment for any action that I would be prosecuted for. And I really give a damn when I fall under one of their labels that are intended to intimidate, humiliate, belittle or disparage me.  My word to them is that now I’m giving it back and with it I make a challenge.

Politician: send me the link or copy of when you even once, stood in the well and with sincere anger, dressed down YOUR side of the aisle for attacking any group of citizens solely because they exercised their right to disagree!  And there’s a caveat to assure sincerity. That dressing down must NOT include any expression of self-pity even if you were an equal target and also include an unqualified apology to almost the entire nation.  Yes, when did you ever stand up to your responsibility to protect and defend your constituents though they disagree with you?  A silent response to this challenge will be yet another clear display that you roll in cowardice and that unless your constituents agree with you, they are, (how did Gruber put it?), too “stupid” to merit your esteemed consideration.  It will be further confirmed that you are void of honor, honesty and integrity.

Yes, I am in a war of words with many politicians.  My ammunition, (words) are well founded and my logistics, (web sites including ClashDaily & DougGiles) are nation-wide.  If everyone pushes back at the self-anointed, pompous, arrogant, crazed politicians just a fraction of my push-back; maybe, just maybe the politicians will begin to get the message that it is they, not we, who must watch their tongues.  Remind them that in fact, they are subordinate to the citizens, not the other way around as they have come to believe and practice.

My representatives do not give a tinker’s damn what the majority of the citizens think or desire.  They each have their own master plan on what they wish to spoon feed us.  If we do not enthusiastically accept their political castor oil, we become victim of yet another label.

I am no longer just angry.  I now express abject loathing for the lot and salute my two senators and representative with a middle finger street sign and suggest that attempts to intimidate, humiliate or disparage me be shoved up their Obama!!!!  They have earned no less.

A Polemic is a contentious argument that is intended to affirm a specific understanding via attacks on a contrary position.

Born into abject poverty in 1934 he spent his teen years on farms as a foster child and was classified as a farm laborer when he joined the Navy in 1952. After that service, he had a short stint at a University but moved on to 35 years associated with the engineering and technical sciences in Aero-Space, retiring from two Aerospace giants in senior positions and a small business. Until retirement, his writing experience was limited to technical occupational reports. His wife is a German immigrant, now a proud American and together they enjoy gardening. Les takes breaks from gardening to express himself to the politicians by phone, email and now thru ClashDaily/DougGiles
