What if a major health insurance provider decided to close its operations, kicking policy holders to the curb. By the tens of thousands. Would the media not be rabid in their investigation of fat-cat swindlers and the impoverished uninsured?
No. Of course not.
Instead they’d spend two weeks trying to slander Dr. Ben Carson. Or casting Jeb Bush in the image of W. They’d come up with something to say about Rubio’s finances. So on and so forth.
They wouldn’t DARE ask why some thirteen Obamacare state exchanges fiscally imploded leaving literally thousands without health coverage. They wouldn’t talk about the money wasted. There would be no tear-jerker “news” items showcasing the plight of the formerly insured. How’s Jim Bob Turklesnout going to get to see his sawbones (slang for Doctor)? The media aren’t interested in finding out and then informing you.
Nor would they mention that the nut job who stabbed people at UC Merced was on a terror watchlists.
They’d parrot for two going on three weeks that maybe, just maybe, the Russian airliner downed over the Sinai was the result of ISIS inspired terrorism. As if it’s such a tremendous leap of logic to make the conclusion. Must wait though for Obama to say it, thus making it so.
Trump would be talked about but only because he came off quite well on SNL. The “Deport Racism 2016” campaign that preceded his SNL visit wouldn’t merit mention. It hasn’t thus far. No, really it hasn’t. Ask ten people at random if they are aware of the video clip featuring obnoxious brats using profane language and sing-song slams against The Donald.
Hillary’s illegal email server would remain a footnote if that. To paraphrase Gwen Stefani, Hillary’s just a girl in the world. And one that — unlike Dr. Carson — did lie about her military aspirations. The media would zip lip about the girl in the world’s claim that in 1975 she tried to join the United States Marine Corps.
Ouster of a university president wouldn’t be discussed as the astonishing result of jack-booted political tactics having more in common with Nazi Germany than any real or perceived social injustice occurring on a Mizzou campus. It would be talked about as part of that unending national conversation on race we supposedly are never engaged in, yet all you hear is race, race, race. Race. And race. Thugs, yes thugs, just muscled a university president out of office. Hashtag mediadoesntcare.
The media’s selection of stories to omit says a great deal about what they have become. Lots of things they could cover. Lots they choose not to cover. How come?
The days of watchdog journalists avidly chasing down the facts in the interest of transparency and equality are over. It’s clear that today they are keepers of the gates — there to ensure that truth doesn’t slip out from those opaque walls erected around the progressive agenda.
