LYNWOOD, Calif. (AP) — The latest on the fatal shooting of a man by deputies in Los Angeles County (all times local):

Authorities say the man fatally shot by Los Angeles Sheriff’s deputies held a gun as he lay dying on the ground.

A close up from a security video released by the Sheriff’s Department on Sunday shows 28-year-old Nicholas Robertson stretched on the ground with a gun in his hand.

Sheriff homicide Cpt. Steven Katz says two deputies fired 33 bullets at the gunman after he refused to drop the gun and walked across a busy street to a gas station where a family was pumping gas.

Katz says Robertson walked down a residential street and then along a busy commercial area holding the gun and acting strangely.

Katz says witnesses reported he fired six to seven shots in the air and briefly went into a car wash and a pizza parlor before the deputies arrived.
