PLEASE GOD: Whoopi Threatens to Leave the US If THIS Happens

Poor Whoopi. The only time she’s really funny anymore is when she’s trying to be serious. For someone who launched her career with comedy, that can’t be good.

Now she’s talking about leaving the States if Trump wins. When she made that announcement, once the champagne corks stopped popping, and people finished high-fiving strangers at the mere mention of it, people had time to put it in perspective.  Like the rest of what she says, she’s entirely full of crap. While many of us would like to see her pack up and leave for some socialist paradise (I hear Cologne is nice this time of year) preferably with a co-host under each arm, It does’t matter, it isn’t true.

She’s just trying to ride the biggest political tool since Rob Ford for generating clicks.

Threatening to leave is an old ploy. We saw it on our side when Obama first took office. We saw it in the Bush years. Hollywood wanna-be’s and political hacks always vent about how bleak the future looks, and want to go somewhere else… Canada, usually.

It’s the toddler tantrum take-my-toys-and-go-home approach. Cowardice. You’re not going to stick around and fight for the principles you believe in, you’re going to abandon the nation to the leadership of people you hate. Well thought out, guys. Genius.

Let’s be honest: the only Potential President that actually might drive people out would be Bernie Sanders, and that’s only because his tax plan might even make rich Leftists start quoting Ayn Rand, and look for their own private version “Gault’s Gulch”.

But let’s examine her claim. Trump is the one candidate she couldn’t handle? Really? A lot of Trump”s claims are nothing more than calculated showmanship. (Get over it. It’s a tactic he’s used all his life.) Look at his Starbucks Cup references. He was just grabbing evangelicals’ attention by acknowleging sentiments of being marginalized. He’s moved on. He does the same thing with slagging the media.

If Whoopi actually saw the Tim Russert interview from 1999, she’d probably be ok with THAT Donald Trump as President, just not the Trump running for leadership of the Republicans today.

Here’s the real test: has she said anything about her reaction to (say) Rubio or Cruz if they were elected? No. because that wouldn’t drive up clicks. Does she even know thier positions, or are they just generic evil conservative rat bastards to her? Which, fine, when we call her a soulless harpy, or whatever the latest insult is, I suppose that’s where political “discourse” has plateaued lately.

Let’s tally up the scorecard. She announces her intention of leaving (which — Sorry, Whoopi if that’s supposed to be an ultimatum, you’re doing it wrong. You’re supposed to threaten us with something we do NOT want to have happen.)

Meanwhile she (who once famously said “it’s not rape-rape”) co-hosts with a woman (Joy Behar) who blandly announced that she’s support a rapist for President so long as he supported her favored liberal causes (even said she would give Chappaquidick a pass). She wouldn’t leave under THAT kind of President.

And let’s wrap up with her actual quote: “I’ve been part of that when they just use a blanket statement to talk about black people or when they use a blanket statement to talk about white people or women or any other group. I don’t think that’s America. I don’t want it to be America. Maybe it’s time for me to move, you know.”

This irony is the only thing in the story richer than Trump. Blanket statements, generalizations, and outright slander? That isn’t America? Doesn’t that actually sum up your job description, Whoopi? That may be the best argument for leaving you’ve given yet.
