Leave it to the educators to be the stupid ones in your average, run-of –the-mill school these days. In yet another sign of the zombie apocalypse/county-most –likely-to-vote-for-Sanders, a St. Paul, MN elementary school has officially cancelled Christmas, Halloween, Valentines Day, and Thanksgiving because they’re potentially too offensive. According to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, the principal of Bruce Vento Elementary School, Scott Masini, wrote a no doubt heart-felt, thoroughly tolerant letter to the parents. In which, he painstakingly explained why it was so critical to eliminate these holidays from the children’s experience “until we can come to a better understanding of how the dominant view [of the holidays] will suppress someone else’s view.” Because of course they will.
Like getting scorched while brining fire to the masses, according to EAGnews, Mr. Masini has apparently suffered unexpected backlash from faculty despite his claims that he made the decision “in consultation with his staff”. In this case, it likely that the “staff” Mr. Masini is most likely consulting with is the Pacific Education Group. These are the wing nuts behind some of the worst politically correct bit of Marxist insanity that’s been invading our children’s education. St. Paul county has also given them $1.5 million for “training”.
EAGnews reports on Mr. Masini’s previous swan dives into forced compliance in the name of “tolerance”, aka political correctness. In one PEG mandated “white privilege” training session, a Klu Klux Klan image was displayed with the question “when do you wear the hood? Mr. Masini told teachers to “sit in silence and reflect on it for 3 or 4 minutes.” Aaron Benner, a former 4th grade teacher at Bruce Vento and African American, told EAGnews that PEG is hurting minorities with their lunacy. “PEG says shouting out in class is a black cultural norm, and being on time is a white cultural thing. It’s so demeaning, so condescending to black kids. As a black man I can say that they are hurting black kids,” Mr. Benner continues, “I’ve never seen anything as idiotic as PEG. Everything we do, PEG is at the forefront.”
If left-wing sponges like Scott Masini are the stems of destroying a once sane education experience, than groups like PEG are the roots. The notion that holidays like Valentines Day and Christmas, which for so many generations of children, were anticipated as a great experience and a form of social integration can now be seriously seen as hurtful would be hilarious if it weren’t happening right in front of our eyes. It used to be that comparing Halloween costumes and exchanging those chalky Valentines candies were the perfect way to grow beyond your limited scope of culture.
But, you know, those things are too American. Especially Christmas. I mean how can such a profoundly un-American philosophy like humanist-driven Marxism cultivate when so many people are happy with the culture they’ve got. There’s got to be a way to explain to the sheep that what they love is evil and destructive to minorities and various ethnicities. Apparently, as Scott Masini modeled, if you just condescend to minorities in the name of tolerance, and dismiss American culture as inherently racist one can realize the Utopia of Marxism.
I wonder how long until PEG sends Mr. Masini the memo to tolerantly enforce non-American traditions like Ramadan ,as already occurred in other schools?
