While DC Dandies Hide, This Soldier Faces Down Blizzard at Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
While the rest of DC seeks shelter from the winter storm Jonas, the Army’s Old Guard remains at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington.
The duty to guard the tomb falls to the Sentinels — a volunteer position — with an acceptance rate of 20 percent. In times of extreme inclement weather, they can take refuge in a duty hut called the “trophy room” overlooking the tomb — but we bet they’ll remain on the march. (Biz Pac Review)
