QUESTION: If Ronald Reagan Were Alive, Would He Vote for Trump Instead of Killary?

If Ronald Reagan were alive today, do you think that he would be throwing his support behind Trump and seeking to defeat Hillary? What his son has to say may surprise you — and the Trump campaign has also responded.

Michael Reagan says his famous father Ronald Reagan wouldn’t have voted for Donald Trump in the California primary – the latest stinging rebuke of Trump on a day when top party officials were calling comments Trump made about a judge ‘racist.’

Michael Reagan has lobbed criticism at Trump throughout the primaries, notwithstanding the way Trump adopted his dad’s ‘Make America Great Again’ slogan and repeatedly praises the Gipper on the campaign trail.

Trump is also deliberately trying to recreate Reagan’s coalition with trade-based appeals that might lure in blue collar Democrats.

Reagan tweeted Monday that, ‘This most likely would be the 1st time if my father was alive that he would not support the nominee of the GOP.’ He then included the twitter handles of Republican National Committee chair Reince Priebus and the Newsmax website.

He also tweeted that he wouldn’t be voting for Trump.

Trump spokeswoman Katrina Pierson responded that it was unfair to try to ‘assume what somebody would do’ – but then went on to say that Reagan probably would support Trump.

‘No, I don’t think so at all,’ she told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer when asked whether Michael Reagan’s comment was particularly painful. ‘I think everyone can try to assume what somebody else would do but you simply can’t do that.’
