Hillary’s comments about half of Trump supporters isn’t something Donald Trump expected her to say.
Hillary Clinton’s remark that half of Donald Trump’s supporters can be put into a ‘basket of deplorables’ is the biggest mistake of the campaign, the Republican nominee said Monday.
Trump, who himself has gotten in hot water for many of his own comments, referenced the ‘anger’ with which he said Clinton made the comment.
‘And she even really doubled up because it was said with such anger and such unbelievable anger, and I think this is the biggest mistake of the political season,’ Trump said on ‘Fox and Friends’ Monday.
‘I really do. When I saw this in its full form, and I saw the anger with which she said it, I mean the way she spoke, I think it’s the single biggest mistake of the political season,’ he said.
The GOP White House candidate added, ‘Personally, when I heard it, I thought that it was not something that was within the realm of possible that she would’ve said it.’
‘Well, remember this: You’re going to be president, you are president of all the people,’ Trump said.
‘You’re not president of 50 percent or 75 percent. You’re president of all the people you’re president of everybody and somehow it has to get out there that, you know, it’s not a certain group of people that’s going to be left behind. Or they have already left behind with jobs and lots of other things.’

Hillary had quickly backtracked and said ‘regrets saying half’ and was ‘grossly generalistic’.
