Gary Johnson strikes again! Maybe we say, ‘Strikes out’ again! Oh, Gary. The limelight isn’t your friend.
Libertarianism was actually getting some exposure and people were starting to really look at the ideas– and then came Gary Johnson.
Getting more exposure has come with another gaffe for Libertarian Gary Johnson.
The third-party candidate was asked for his response to the frightening Chelsea explosion Saturday night, the pipe bomb in New Jersey and stabbings in Minnesota.
“Well, first of all, just grateful that nobody got hurt,” Johnson proclaimed on CNN’s “Reliable Sources” Sunday.
Twenty-nine people were injured in Chelsea alone and nine people were stabbed at a St. Cloud mall…
OOPS!!!
Johnson backtracked on his profound ignorance:
Johnson issued a separate statement later in the afternoon acknowledging the injuries.
“Our thoughts are with the those [sic] injured in the attacks in New York City and Minnesota,” the statement read. “Regardless of the motivations for such senseless acts, they remind us that there are very real threats to our safety and our freedom, threats that must be dealt with realistically and firmly.”
