Department of Justice lawyers are dropping charges against an American arms dealer who said he intended to expose Hillary Clinton’s involvement in weapons shipments to Libya when she served as Secretary of State.
An associate of arms dealer Marc Turi said the Obama administration dropped the case because further proceedings threatened to ensconce President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton in scandal by showing how the administration’s apparent weapons shipments ended up in the hands of Islamic radicals fighting Gadhafi, then-head of Libya, Politico reports.
“They don’t want this stuff to come out because it will look really bad for Obama and Clinton just before the election,” the associate told Politico.
This is the part of the story where we remind the public that our objection to Hillary’s corruption is that it can be used as leverage against her to act AGAINST American interests.
Looks like those transactions have already started.

[Can anyone else hear that historical voice: “When the President does it, that means it isn’t illegal”]In 2011, Turi applied for a State Department license to export arms to Libya, looking to seize upon the opportunity that arose from the brewing civil war. That application was rejected. He applied again and switched the destination country to Qatar. That application was approved. According to The New York Times, the Obama administration assented to Qatar shipping weapons to rebels in Libya.
Turi was originally charged, among other things, with lying to the State Department about the destination of weapons shipments. He apparently said they were headed for Qatar, but in reality, they were on their way to Libya, which Turi’s lawyers said was part of a government-authorized effort to aid Islamic extremists.
In an interview last year, Turi said the U.S. was aware that weapons being shipped into Libya during the unrest there were being immediately diverted to Syria.
“When this equipment landed in Libya, half went one way, and the half went the other way,” Turi said in an interview broadcast on Fox Business Channel. “The half that went the other way is the half that ended up in Syria.”
Turi also said he came up with an idea he termed “zero footprint,” where the U.S. would send weapons to Libyan rebels through Arab countries, like Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
During 2013 Senate hearings on the 2012 Benghazi attack, Clinton, under questioning from Sen. Rand Paul (R-Kentucky), said she had no knowledge of weapons moving from Libya into Turkey, for ultimate transfer to Syria.Wikileaks head Julian Assange in July suggested that he had emails proving that Clinton “pushed” the “flows” of weapons “going over to Syria.”
Maybe THIS is why nobody in government is taking the missing emails very seriously? Can you imagine the OUTRAGE if it was Dubya who had armed Syria and Libya?
