PATRIOTS: Make SURE Congress Upholds Their Constitutional Oath — Hold Them ACCOUNTABLE

On the stroke of midnight, January 1, 2017, all of the House of Representatives and one third of the Senate are eligible to be sworn into the next congress. Some of these will be new members, the balance re-elected members. During that day and a few following, some sitting Congressional members will voluntarily re-swear their allegiance to the Constitution. Unfortunately, in too many cases, that oath will be a false oath. Yes; a false oath!

The Congressional Oath of Office.

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.

[emphasis added]

Read this oath carefully. Nowhere in that oath or in the Constitution or the Federalist papers is it even implied they have an allegiance to the President or a political party then or thereafter. Yet for decades, these self-anointed towers of righteousness orate that per the Constitution, they represent the people while practicing their first faith to President and/or Party. Many religiously represent the White House to the people when their oath to the Constitution actually establishes that they are to represent the people to the White House. They have sworn to be the representatives of the people, not the President or any political party.

They swear their oath as above, yet immediately fail to accurately fulfill their duty under Constitutional Article I, Section 2. In fact, about seven years ago, senior Senator, Ron Wyden (D) OR, sent a letter to me stating that one of his duties is; “to get along with the President”. That statement totally ignores Article II, Section 1, Paragraph six of the United States Constitution that provides that the Senate has the power to set both the President and Vice-President aside if there is an issue of violation of ”high crimes and misdemeanors”. The oath they take is not in agreement with what the congress practices when they elevate “getting along” ahead of their oath to the Constitution. Wyden is not alone in allegiance to party before Constitution. Let us now examine how many that have “got along” with the past Administration suddenly begin to create havoc and now hide behind the very Constitution that they have been ignoring.

If “getting along with the President” is one of any congress person’s agenda, we will move closer to the dictatorship agenda of the past administration. Rather than being titled a congress, the name should be changed to a “Duma”. That is a governing body that “gets along with leadership”. Debate is encouraged, gridlock is not. Congress is there to serve the people and the Constitution, not an individual or a political party.

At this time there are literally dozens of charges filed and prepared to be filed before the Judicial branch of our country accusing many of the leaders of the Past Administration of both law and Constitutional violations. What if it is found that the past President and/or many of his appointees have knowingly and deliberately violated their oath to and duties under the Constitution? Should he/she be considered as having not discharged their duties under suspicion of fraud upon the U.S. Constitution and hence the people? Is it possible that all Tsars and some cabinet members may be equally chargeable with Treason and set aside, (Article II, Section 4) or brought to trial? If there exists a trace of decency or honor for our Constitutional Republic, both sides of the aisle will put party and special interests aside to serve the citizens by fulfilling their solemn oath of office. No longer should “We the People” ignore any official taking an oath and then treating it as just hogwash.

If congress balks or even hesitates to do their duty, I will be among those that would promote that Articles of Impeachment and charges of Treason be filed against anyone that violates their oath by aiding and abetting the covert, fraudulent overthrow of the Constitution and thereby the destruction of United States.
