QUESTION: Trump Says, ‘Loss of Citizenship Or 1yr. in Jail’ For Burning US Flag – Do You AGREE?
Is Trump right or is it a ridiculous suggestion?
After the recent incidents at Hampshire College, Trump tweeted out this:
Nobody should be allowed to burn the American flag – if they do, there must be consequences – perhaps loss of citizenship or year in jail!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 29, 2016

Flag-burning is currently protected under the 1st Amendment as ‘symbolic speech’.
Can’t you just hear all the Democrats getting ready to hurl the labels of ‘tyrant’ and ‘dictator’?
Hold your fire, Liberals!
It turns out that Hillary supported a bill in 2005 that was quite similar. And she wasn’t the only Democrat to co-sponsor the Bill.
Check it out:
The penalty under this bill was up to 1 year imprisonment and/or up to $100,000 fine, unless the flag was the property of the United States Government, in which case the penalty would be up to two years impriosnment and/or a fine of up to $250,000.
What do you think of Trump’s tweet?
