GENDER-NEUTERED: University NOW Bans ‘MR’ and ‘MRS’ — The Titles Could Cause ‘Needless Offense’
Once you start bowing to the Liberal agenda you can never get back on your feet. Here’s proof.
It used to be that we used titles to refer to people with polite respect. Now that same formal respect is ‘deeply’ offensive by people suffering a bad case of ‘First World Problems’.
Inexplicably, the ‘adults’ in the equation defer to the ‘wisdom’ (and demands) of the children.
And this is how a bumper-crop of ‘precious snowflakes’ is born.
ClashDaily had previously reported that Oxford University had banned ‘he’ and ‘she’ as discriminatory. This was disputed by a statement by the Oxford University Student Union, and we updated our post accordingly.
Oxford University has told colleges and academic departments to remove gender-specific titles such as Mr and Mrs from their websites and leaflets.
The guidance, contained in a document from the Equality and Diversity Unit, suggests only academic terms like Dr and Prof should be retained.
It advised that while the process of removing gender-specific titles is underway, people should be given the option of appearing without any prefix.
…Gay rights campaigner Peter Tatchell supported the University’s stance on gender specific titles.
…‘It is a positive thing to not always emphasise gender. We are all human. Why does our gender matter so much and why should it be constantly highlighted by titles?‘In an age when more people are defining themselves as transgender or gender-fluid, using gender-based titles ignores the new reality and could cause needless offence.’
Oxford… which has produced some of the best debaters the English language has EVER seen, does not even see the contradiction held in the statement made by this ‘Gay Right’s Campaigner’.
He is WHAT exactly? A Gay Rights Campaigner? The TITLE by which he wants to be known ‘gay rights’ actually DEPENDS on binary definitions of gender. If gender is ‘fluid’ or ‘nonbinary’ you have lost the special status of claiming ‘Same Sex’ attraction. It’s a distinction without a difference, and you are a relic of an outdated movement.
People who happen to have a penis (or not) are no longer ‘special’ if they want to have Physical/emotional/other relations with a person who may or may not be biologically the same as them. So the Gay rights activist is PRECISELY the WRONG person to weigh in on this issue. He has disqualified himself with outdated terms.
See how foolish this game gets?
They don’t. Just wait until the TRANS crowd finds itself in a turf war with the more ‘traditional’ LBGT. Or they both come into conflict with the zoophiles, incestophiles, the necrophiles, or whatever else they might dream up.
And meanwhile, our institutes of higher learning are … to paraphrase Malcolm Muggeridge, ‘Educating The Kids Into Imbecility’.
