BOOM! Trump Meets With DETROIT’S 3 Big Auto Manufacturers Here’s What Went DOWN

President Trump is committed to a statement in his Inaugural Address, ‘Buy American, Hire American’, as shown by his meeting with the ‘Big’ 3 US Auto Manufacturers — Ford, GM, and Fiat Crysler.

Check out what President Trump had to say about the meeting:

We’re bringing manufacturing back to the United States big league. We’re reducing taxes substantially and we’re reducing unnecessary regulations. We want regulations, but we want real regulations that mean something.

We’re going to make the process much more simple for the auto companies, and for everybody else that wants to do business in the United States. I think you’ll find this to be — from very inhospitable — to extremely hospitable. I think we’ll go down as one of the most friendly countries. Right now it’s not.

I have friends who want to build in the United States. They go many, many years and they can’t get their environmental permit over something that nobody ever heard of before, and it’s crazy. I am, to a large extent, an environmentalist. I believe in it, but it’s out of control. And we’re going to make it a short process and we’re going to either give you your permits or not, but you’ll know quickly and generally speaking we’ll be giving you the permits.

We’ll be very friendly. It’s an honor to be with you today.

Incentivising US manufacturing instead of penalizing it… what a concept!

There are still some clarification issues, like the 35% tarriff on goods coming across the border from Mexico, but check out what Mark Fields, CEO of Ford had to say:

Ford CEO Mark Fields praised the new administration as they left.

“As an industry we’re excited about working together with the president and his administration on tax policies, on regulation and on trade to really create a renaissance in American manufacturing,” he said.
He specifically praised Trump’s decision to pull out of the TPP trade deal, which Fields said did not do enough to address currency manipulation, a major concern for U.S. automakers.
