SHOTS FIRED: Mosque Shot Up Just Hours After Istanbul Santa Shooting (Breaking)

Police are still sorting out the details. Here’s what we have so far.

(Developing…)

At least two people have been injured in a shooting at one of Istanbul’s mosques, according to Turkish media reports.

Gunfire was reported at the Hasan Pasha Mosque in the northern part of Istanbul’s European side, Turkish Dogan News Agency (DHA) said.

A crowd had gathered at the mosque for prayer when the attacker opened fire with a rifle before fleeing the scene, the news agency reported, citing eyewitnesses. —Independent

As ClashDaily ALSO reported, there was a New Year’s Eve Massacre at a nightclub. (The attacker was caught on video.) The shooter is still at large and was reportedly dressed as Santa.

As for any connection between the two attacks?

It is not clear whether the shooting at the mosque and the massacre at the nightclub are linked but shows the heightened sense of security in cities around the world.

It also is unclear who carried out the shooting at the nightclub, however recent terror attacks in Turkey have been carried out by groups such as ISIS and Kurdish militants. —DailyMail
