Leave it to Facebook to reveal why liberals can’t stand Donald Trump. It was there in a post made by a deep blue Obamunist on my page who decided that the reason some didn’t agree with Obama was simply that “they couldn’t get past the color of his skin”.
That’s right. According to the liberal – and I’m sure dear reader you have heard or seen the same thing – it was intellectually impossible to disagree with Obama, so it must have been his race that drove people to oppose him.
Trump’s White…That’s Why Liberals Oppose Him!
If we take at face value this particular liberal fallacy, then it must follow that the left doesn’t support President Donald Trump because he’s a white guy. Makes sense, doesn’t it?
From Hollywood to Harvard, the modern left hates white people.
They make memes about it. They post on social media about it. They produce entertainment products predicated upon it. When a black person dies after interaction with the police – regardless of circumstance or the color of the police officer’s skin – the left connects it to racism. College campuses more or less offer degrees in it. The curricula has spawned bizarre notions like “white privilege” and “intersectionality”. These have spawned even stranger concepts, such as the idea that white people ought not to speak up lest their voices drown out those of the supposedly aggrieved, or the “progressive stack” which is designed to do the same thing. All that fuels the memes, social media, entertainment, and street-level agitation that’s become sadly commonplace in 21st century America.
Yes, the modern left hates white people. So much so I wouldn’t be surprised if Beyoncé came up with a song called “Call Me Ma’Hitler Fo Shizzle My Nizzle Ima Kill Me Some White People Freddie Gray”. At least one of her musical contemporaries has said as much publicly. No, I’m not referring to Lena Dunham either, although she is definitely anti-white and thus far, blessedly, hasn’t taken her trailer park freak show in the direction of musical entertainment.
Donald Trump is white. (I prefer to think of him as orange. Specifically, cheeto-orange. Take no offense when I call him “cheeto-orange” – Cheetos are the best). That’s why the left hates him.
They Can’t Get Past the Color of His Skin
It’s about now that the liberal reading this article takes note of the fight or flee mechanism hardwired deep within us all. As appealing as that safe zone – complete with cuddle puppies, blankies, hot cocoa, and coloring books – might be, the liberal’s fight mechanism says strike back. Like this: “Mr. Allen, are you saying that it’s impossible to disagree with anything that Donald Trump stands for?”
The liberal asking that question is offering a strawman that says, unlike Barack Obama who was intellectually as pure as the driven snow, Donald Trump’s ideology is more akin to snow about six days after it’s fallen, melted, refroze, melted, refroze, turned grey and sludgey, and melted then refroze again.
The tempting knee-jerk is to throw Obama’s failures back at the liberal – but friends, we’ve done that for eight years and the Obama who was President now gets to put “former-“ in front of that title. Yes, Donald Trump’s ideology is cleaner and purer than the moronapalooza America and indeed the world witnessed emanating from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue during Obama’s eight years.
And anyway, of course it’s possible to disagree with Trump. We after all, aren’t the left.
Ideology and Ideas
The left’s ideology informs their ideas. That’s why they worship race huckster Rep John “I Was Beaten by Democrats in Selma Fifty Plus Years Ago” Lewis and are beholden to policy proposals as stale as that bag of Cheetos that fell behind Grandma’s fridge when Truman was President suffering from the same diarrhea of the mouth that helped shut Hillary Clinton down in 2016.
Our ideas aren’t informed by our ideology. We let ideas inform our ideology. That’s why we needn’t agree in lockstep with President Trump the way liberals treated Barack Obama as if he were their Lord and Savior. There will be times we agree with Trump and times we don’t. Anyone who’s not been living under a rock the past year or so knows this. The public record is full of it.
For the left though, it’s all about race. That’s how it goes for people bookended by the intellectual content of Joy Behar and the Kardashian Klan, with Barack Obama as the content in between.
