WTF? HS Students APOLOGIZE For Wearing Patriotic Clothes To Basketball Game
Students wore red, white, and blue to a basketball game — and there was OUTRAGE!
How dare they!
What were they thinking?
Students at an Iowa high school have apologized to a neighboring school for wearing red, white and blue to a recent basketball game.
The Valley High School students’ USA-themed attire was seen as offensive because some of the rival school’s players were from refugee families.
“Any normal person, any educated person can look at that and think what the hell are these kids thinking,” said Valley High School coach Morgan Wheat.

Here is the apology that was sent to Des Moines North High:
It has been brought to our attention that the decision by the Valley High School student section to wear U.S.A. apparel at our game last night was offensive to members of your community and fan base. We are deeply sorry if we have offended anyone in any way. We have traditionally dressed in such a fashion for great games such as the one last night. Everyone here at Valley has immense respect not only for your team and players but for your community as a whole. Please know that our intent was in no way to offend or demean—just to support our own team in a way we have done before.
This isn’t the only time that the flag and those patriotic colors have been banned.
The same thing happened in Tulsa, Oklahoma on the school’s — get this — USA night. But their reason wasn’t because of taunting, it was to not ‘block the view’ of other fans.
Sure it was.
And then they give the progressive, inclusive, multicultural crapola like this:
‘Any normal person, any educated person can look at that and think what the hell are these kids thinking.’
Ehrm… I’m just not trackin’ with you, Coach Wheat.
Let me lay it out for you and I’ll try to use small words so you can follow, mmmkay?
How is it that expressions of patriotism require an apology?
How is it taunting to Hispanics or refugees to proudly wear the colors that represent your country?
The country that they are presently residing in.
Isn’t it because America is so great that these Hispanics and refugees are here, anyway?
Why would it be offensive if they chose to be here?
Do YOU think these high school kids should have apologized?
