PAYBACK: McConnell Goes ‘NUCLEAR’ To Confirm Judge Gorsuch — Dems FURIOUS

Hypocritical Democrats are LIVID that Mitch McConnell will exercise the ‘Nuclear’ option to end the filibuster of Supreme Court nominee, Neil Gorsuch.

Harry Reid, who, in 2013, made the rule that allows for the lowering of the threshold to break a filibuster, was unconcerned about Republicans using the so-called Nuclear option for Supreme Court Appointments.’Let ’em do it,’ Reid shrugged, ‘why in the world would we care?‘

But now that it’s 2017 — and Hillary lost the White House — the Democrats are frothing at the mouth in rage.

The ‘Nuclear Option’ is being invoked because the votes for Neil Gorsuch stand at 55-45 — just 5 votes short of the 60 needed to confirm the nominee. Only 4 Democrats voted in his favor.

Mitch McConnell was on Fox News’s First 100 Days to talk about it:

The majority of Senate Democrats were put in a giant timeout Thursday as Senate Republicans, led by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, exercised the “nuclear option” in order to end a lengthy filibuster by Democrats to block the confirmation of Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch.

The move gives the Senate the ability to confirm Gorsuch with a simple majority of 51 yeas rather than 60, as previously required.

Gorsuch’s confirmation hearing began March 20, and Democrats have been blocking the confirmation ever since. By the time Thursday rolled around, the Democratic filibuster had been going on and on for several days, reaching its peak Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning when Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.), clogged up the Senate floor for 15 hours in opposition to Gorsuch’s confirmation.

The final vote to confirm Gorsuch is expected to take place Friday.

Judge Gorsuch’s ‘fidelity to literal texts’ is problematic because he’s not an activist judge. He believes that the words of the Constitution mean what they say.

It seems like if the tables had been turned in January, the Democrats would’ve done the same thing.

Isn’t it a bit rich for the Democrats to be outraged when they’re the ones that set the precedent?
