DEAR CNN: Doctor Arrested For Performing Female Genital Mutilation On Girls In AMERICA — Is THAT News?
In the leftist quest for ‘cultural enrichment’, we now have a FEMALE doctor arrested for performing FGM on young girls in America.
An act that would make Women’s March leader and pro-Sharia activist, Linda Sarsour, proud.
Two girls were brought across state lines from Minnesota to have the illegal operation performed on them by a Detroit doctor. Dr. Jumana Nagarwala performed the operations on girls between the ages of 6 and 8 years old at a medical clinic in Livonia, Michiganistan.
Female genital mutilation is a barbaric ritual performed in the Muslim world with the intent of reducing sexual pleasure in women. The procedure involves the complete removal or partial removal of the clitoris and is illegal in the United States…
…One 7-year-old girl was brought from Minnesota by her family for a “special girl’s trip,” according to the complaint. The victim told authorities she had to visit Dr. Nagarwala to “get the germs out.”
The same child victim reportedly underwent a medical exam on April 11, during which a doctor noticed her genitals had been “altered or removed,” WXYZ-TV reported. The child was able to identify Dr. Nagarwala as the person responsible.
F.B.I. agent Kevin Swanson wrote in his sworn affidavit that one child victim said “her parents told her that the procedure is a secret and that she is not supposed to talk about it.”

Authorities believe that there are more victims, and are concerned that the practice by Nagarwala was so well known that girls were brought by their mothers across state lines to have the barbaric cultural practice performed on them.
The FBI is investigating the complaint.
The affidavit also alleges that there are Michigan victims as well.
“According to the complaint, despite her oath to care for her patients, Dr. Nagarwala is alleged to have performed horrifying acts of brutality on the most vulnerable victims,” said Acting Assistant Attorney General Blanco. “The Department of Justice is committed to stopping female genital mutilation in this country, and will use the full power of the law to ensure that no girls suffer such physical and emotional abuse.”
“Female genital mutilation constitutes a particularly brutal form of violence against women and girls. It is also a serious federal felony in the United States. The practice has no place in modern society and those who perform FGM on minors will be held accountable under federal law,” stated Acting United States Attorney Daniel Lemisch.
“The allegations detailed in today’s criminal complaint are disturbing. The FBI, along with its law enforcement partners, are committed to doing whatever necessary to bring an end to this barbaric practice and to ensure no additional children fall victim to this procedure”, said Special Agent in Charge David Gelios.
