And now, speaking of breathless calls for impeachment — in the story the NY Times has waited since November 9th to publish:
The Justice Department has appointed Robert S. Mueller III, the former F.B.I. director, to serve as a special counsel to oversee its investigation into Russian meddling in the election, Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein announced on Wednesday. — NYT
The Liberals have begun with the presumption of guilt from day one. They have worked backward from that, and no matter how many times their hypotheses have been, they stubbornly — almost religiously — stick to that belief. Do you think THIS might be actual Objective for the illegal unmasking that happened on information they ‘incidentally’ gathered? (see: coup, above)
Later in the same article, Rosenstein explicity denies that there are specific criminal acts being examined.
“I determined that it is in the public interest for me to exercise my authorities and appoint a special counsel to assume responsibility for this matter,” Mr. Rosenstein said in a statement. “My decision is not a finding that crimes have been committed or that any prosecution is warranted. I have made no such determination.”
Not like that will stop the political innuendo. Or the corrosive effect it will have on everything from seting Government policy to due process.
But when the opposition has lost the Presidency, the House, and Congress, and power is to be maintained at all costs, are you really surprised that they’re looking for end runs around letting the duly-elected President perform his appointed function?
And yet, they’ll continue with their ironic protests chanting ‘this is what democracy looks like’… which they have said from the moment they lost.
Who is this Special prosecutor? Robert Mueller.
Here’s a report.
We shall see if this remains just an examination claims about Russian interference, or whether he caves to media and democratic pressure to let it metastasize into a full-blown witch hunt.
While we’re on the topic. Has anyone been arrested or imprisoned for the unmasking of classified documents? What about Fast & Furious? Or the weaponizing of the IRS against public citizens?
Since we suddenly care about government abuses again, maybe we could have some answers there, too.
