While other sports are inventing ways to embarrass themselves and make their political statements obnoxious to the fans in ‘flyover country’ the NHL isn’t standing for any of that crap.
If anything, they are RAISING the bar for expressions of love of country.
And it’s not just things like the team USA coach who made it clear that if anyone pulled a ‘Kaepernick’ on his team, he’d bench them.
Nope. This extends to the fans themselves.
In Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, a playoff game between the Oilers and the Anaheim Ducks experienced some technical difficulties.
Tech problems meant that the mic cut out for the American Anthem.
Not to worry, lads, the Oiler Fans have your back!

If the mic crapped out during the Canadian anthem, would we be able to return the favor?
